I've seen the Aurora Borealis from County Down 3 or 4 times in my 62 years. Hoping to see it again this time. One of Mother Nature's wonderful sights. I wonder what our Ancient Ancestors made of them?
Donegal saw the light a pity about the rest of Ulster.
murph, good n american take on the lights... my big look at them was october on washington island in lake michigan, fado, fado.. very pleased to see northern coast of donegal featured as such a legitimate and naturey touring magnet. may this feature add to the argument for including that north coast into the upcoming "Wild Atlantic Drive". it totally makes sense! as one unbiased donegal observer said, 'our scenery buries what they have in the southwest...no contest' (or something along those lines)... also, up Labatts, and Moosehead too, and Island Wheat beer made from organic grain grown on Washington Island these days... yeah!!
When it is 9 oclock at night and the rock is still 80 degrees in a 93 degree day and your son is seeing the Northern Lights for the first time -you would be shirtless too-too bad you couldn;t have experienced it,definetly one of the finest moments of my life-nonwithstading the monster Muskies we caught!
@Murph46. The "shirtless" part kind of creeps me out. Otherwise, sounds great.
Saw em in Canada on a hot August night laying shirtless on Pre -Cambrian Shield rock heated to therapeutic from the days sun, with a Labatts Blue in my hand next to my son after fishing for Muskie all day.Like the old beer ad used to say -It don't get any better than this-Awesome,natures light show.
