Sorry Creaky I'm going to have to do ya for plagiarism.I notice you have copied the fun way I have used the word "Great" I would have left you off if you used it 2 or 3 times. But 12 times Creaky!!If I was to show that to a psychiatrist who specializes in the diagnosis and treatment of mental disorders.I bet he would say you were envious of my literary genius.I think it's you who has a touch of inferiority Mr Towngate. It could be a Greeeeeat amount.

Curspittle: In a land of slow learners you are surely the King!
I am at a great loss, but you really must try greatly to get over your great feeling of great inferiority about not being lucky enough to be born in great England. You stagger about the place pretending to have a great bogus great British title ......... just keep away from the Great O'Dowd and don't spoil his great chances for a great time in the Great Vice-Regal Lodge!. Ok? Great!

@Sirpeter-Its funny you mentioning theme music to Buckingham palace in regard to towntrolls posts. When ever I read one of your posts for some reason the A-Team theme plays in my head as I read it. ;)

Creaky. You didn't leave the theme music to Buckingham palace off for long. No!! Plenty others on IC hear the same tune to your comments. You're in Great Ireland now,the Great Irish Central where we talk about the Great Irish people and our great and wonderful country. You reckon if Niall O'Dowd kowtows to the wicked brits of the east he'll get elected.I knew we had a wicked west brit in here somewhere playing the theme music to Buckingham palace.Get with the program Creaky or tally-ho off over those well broken fences to the Shires.Follow the path!>>>>>>>>>

Hobgoblin?? Perfect!! NEXT!! Pat Cox? Are you thinking what I'm thinking??? No way with that surname..ffs

It's only you that seems to hear the British musical undertones and is threatened by it. What are you afraid of? Most decent people appreciate the close and strengthening friendship we have with Great Britain. Besides, Niall will, of course, be mindful that over six million of his Irish Diaspora live closeby in Britain alone - more people than in All Ireland - and despite his ill-judged remarks in the past about the wonderful country, he knows it has Officially declared itself to be our closest friend and nearest neighbour, and backed up the statement with it's own hard cash, in addition to its contribution through the IMF etc. I'm sure he does not intend to exclude them in the future whether he gets elected or not! He just has to mend a few fences - but there's no better man for that - and before long he could be riding in triumph through the Dublin Town Gate!

@Creakygate.Well at least you turned off the theme music to Buckingham palace in that post anyway. The thing is I'm willing to take a chance and do something different.Given the work Niall O'Dowd has done in the past and the fact he looks in good health and must be a pretty dynamic guy.Been Irish president and been Irish/American might give him the status to open more doors.Apart from the other candidates filling the role in a conventional way what have they to offer? I was going to vote for Norris because he looked the part, but now I think he's going to spend half his time defending his homosexuality and what he said in the past.We can be progressive, but I don't think at this present moment Ireland can afford to be progressive by way of a gay president. So I'm ruling him out.Anybody else on IC think another candidate would be better then Niall O'Dowd?

@Sirpeter-In regard to Niall O'Dowds presidential bid I will use the words of Michael Collins..."I'll make a f*cking President(army) out of you yet if its the last thing I do". ;)

I fear nothing - in the true sense of the word, and I have not tried to dissuade Niall from standing at all. I have wished him good luck and 'bon voyage' in my comments. I welcome everyone who has Irelands interests at heart and have merely voiced my opinion that there may be an even better way for Niall to help our country. At the moment he is in the murky marshland of uncertainty over the strength of his support here and deserves out best wishes and good behaviour at this sensitive time. He deserves that,at least!

@Creakygate.What are you afraid of?You keep telling Niall O'Dowd what a bad idea it is to run for the presidency. We know you won't be voting for him.Who do you think is better for the job?He has looked after the Irish people at home and in the states. Is that not enough to run?Or are you just going to continue to spout your negativity about any person or idea that actually might help Ireland.Does everything you comment on have to have "God save the Queen" playing in the background?
