Presidential hopeful Newt Ginrich must be hoping that Herman Cain's alleged infidelities and Mitt Romney's inconsistency on the issues will bolster his own political fortunes.

But first he has to get past his own shortcomings, which include multiple marriages, major ethics violations charges and his own supposed softness on immigration reform.

This week to bolster his credibility on the immigration front Ginrich took the opportunity to talk tough to Fox New's Bill O'Reilly this week

In a transcript of their discussion on the Fox News website the conversation went like this:

O'REILLY: All right, let's go to immigration. Border fence, would you put a border fence from Brownsville in San Diego if you were president?

GINGRICH: Yes.

O'REILLY: Ok.

GINGRICH: Absolutely.

O'REILLY: Would you move the National Guard down to the border in certain precincts that are dangerous and would put the U.S. National Guard to back up the border.

GINGRICH: Sure, I would use whatever - look I would use whatever resources we needed to. I've said, you know 23,000 Department of Homeland Security employees in the Washington D.C. area. I'd move half of them to Texas, New Mexico and Arizona if we need the manpower.

O'REILLY: Well, that would just frighten the people not to come here because they'll being the federal employees. I mean, President Bush did not want to -

GINGRICH: I would be willing to use -- I would be willing to reinforce, there's a profound reason to not get the military too close the drug dealing because of its enormous potential for corruption. But I think as reinforcement for local sheriffs, as reinforcement for local law enforcement and for the border patrol you certainly would use whatever level of military you use to make sure we had overwhelming power.

O'REILLY: Ok because President Bush was not -- did not want to do that. He did not for whatever reason and he never clearly articulated it.

GINGRICH: Right.

O'REILLY: He did not want to use the National Guard to get down there and help Arizona in particular which is just awash with the whole of the stuff.
And Arnold Schwarzenegger the Governor of California flat out refused to do it when he could have called out the National Guard. They refused to do it.
Do you understand President Bush and Governor Schwarzenegger's reluctance?

Remember Newt comes from Harrisburg, Pa. which eliminates him from the human race.
Here is my idea. go to the applications for all those who applied for a green card and waited for like forever to get into America and let them in. then get the armed forces to get those who have been living in America illegally for God only knows how long and ship them back to their own country, kids and all. It is not fair for all those who didn’t break the law and stayed in their own country to get into America with a green card. Not fair to let those in who are taking advantage of the good US of A. get them the hell out.
In the CNN debate, Gingrich came out in favor of the Kriebel Foundation Red Card Immigrant Guest Worker Visa Program for the 12,000,000 to 20,000,000 illegal in the USA that offers any illegal alien in the Red Card guest worker program an opportunity after completing several years in the program to apply for a Green Card and thus a path to citizenship. Then they go to the head of the line ahead of immigrants seeking legal entry into the USA. That is known as Back Door Amnesty.
Gingrich specifically denied outright amnesty. He said illegals would have to prove they have been here significant time and had paid taxes or been model residents with children. How they paid taxes without a Social Security number I can't determine, but that criteria would still require most to leave. He said rounding up 12 million is not acceptable to the American people.
Gingrich has always had that position. The big problem with Gingrich is that he favors amnesty for the 12,000,000 to 20,000,000 illegal aliens in the USA.
@ OldPerfessor, spot on!
Google "Operation Wetback" and see how it was done after WW2.
Or, maybe the Gingrinch could send Sheriff Joe's troops to Scottsdale and arrest the rich white people who wave the dollar bills that keep the Mexicans coming because they're too cheap to pay a living wage to Americans.
