@sirpeter, you're right. The word should be commemorate, not celebrate. I don't know any Americans who are "celebrating" the senseless loss of human life. Btw: it was EUROPEAN immigrants to America who wanted to settle on land belonging to the Indians. Over the years, these immigrants and their descendants pressured the Am. govt. to push the Indians aside so they could move west. There were plenty of people "right off the boat" who moved right onto Indian land in the mid-1800s without a bit of guilt, including some of my own Irish ancestors. In fact, the Indians weren't completely gone before my Irish ancestors moved in and took over Indian land. It was European immigrants and their descendants who were involved in the slave trade. The first immigrants came here to escape religious and econmic persecution in Europe. Europeans weren't exactly kind and neighborly over the centuries. In fact, they were quite busy going to war with each other. No one has the corner on "peace and freedom," including Ireland. It's just what all of us strive for. Europeans criticizing America is like the pot calling the kettle black.
Its a great and true message. not to be negative, I wonder who pays to send him around the world with this message. Is he a professional motivational speaker? I believe he is. He does do free seminars but he is now a somewhat typical 9-11 braggart who is benefiting financially and egotistically from the events of that terrible day. sorry to be so cynical, the Village Voice article last week about all the people who have and are profiting from 9-11 makes me angry. People you see on tv giving interviews about how much they "volunteer" when on fact they are getting paid and contributions to thier organizations go to salaries and not to real victims. I seriously doubt this Chief Daly worked 6 straight months "on the WTC pile"
I'm down to the morrow Wizzy. But they don't half make me swear at them at times.
Well now, how close to the bone are you ‘Sir’ Well said and Amen, to you.
I never read or heard the word peace and freedom so much from anybody as you do from the American Nation.Ye have been preaching these words for 400 years and ye don't know the meaning of the words.Peace and Freedom~Peace and Freedom~Peace and Freedom~Peace and Freedom~Peace and Freedom~Peace and Freedom~Peace and Freedom~Will ye ever shut the fu*k up.You lot are anything but Peaceful and have supported more dictators in more countries who took peoples freedom then I care to list.Fu*king hell you're whole economy for the first 350 years depended on slavery and ye gave no peace to the Indians until ye destroyed them.No wonder he called Dan "Daily" in the pic. It's like a propaganda newspaper.Antoinette!! I know you can use the word celebrate but don't you think commemorate is a little bit better.Course some would celebrate 9/11.
