On July 4, 1976, I was on the host ship for the Bicentennial Naval Review in New York Harbor on the Hudson. Kissinger and Rockefeller came on board. I brushed past Mrs. Kissinger in a passageway. During our visit, we were warned specifically about crime on the subway. A bunch of us were given a ride on a paddy wagon. I talked with sailors off the USS Kruger from South Africa. Since then, Guiliani made New York safe and Ray Kelly "picked up the baton". I have been to the St. Patrick's Day Parade in NYC for the last five years. The NYPD and NYFD are prominent in an Irish perspective of New York. Chrissie is not to be trusted with her lesbian priorities which include putting T. Dolan in his place. Ray Kelly, the former Marine and law school grad of St. John's, is stated as an independent. It is obvious that he is mulling his chances at a run against the second coming of the Titanic.
I assume New York is still rated the safest big city in the USA? If Commissioner Kelly finds himself out of a job after the election, perhaps Dublin could use him. From what I read, there isn't a lot of confidence in the police force (garda) there. I find the entire Irish justice system inadequate.
