As a member of the Diaspora I am tired of attempts at manipulation by Irish politicians who think it is clever to have a policy of enforced emigration and then pass the hat around among the successful Irish abroad whenever they embarrass us at home. It is long past time the Diaspora organised itself as a piper which calls at least some of the tunes at home. Don't sign any cheques or donations until real changes in governance are made. Irish Ministers are not the only ones who can operate a clandestine policy with regard to the Irish economy and Irish politics.

I knew Michael D. should be elected when he knew the price of a stamp. I look forward as a newly recognized Irish descendant with my new Irish heritage certificate to continuing to celebrate Ireland's returning emphasis on the values that made the Irish what they are today.

You speak grand words Michael D.But if I didn't know better I'd say it's an engineered unspoken government policy to cast a few hundred thousand Irish people into the world every generation. It certainly improves Ireland's influence overseas.Brings back money and helps bring financial investment.
