I came to tears when this story first aired, on of my children is 12yrs old and i can't keep up with all that he does out of my care, i only know what he tell me, but i can say that he uses my cell phone often to send text messages and he talks online with friends and i have taught him the wrongs of being a bully and the consequences of this.I go to the school and talk with other parents, also very close with his teachers. This girls mother making excuses for her daughter is not going to help her in the long run, regardless of what she wants to believe she has to show her daughter tough love, don't say she was doing nothing obvisouly she was and it led to the death of a beautiful young girl. what she is doing is only teacher her daughter that it's ok what she done and it not her fault. how wrong you are!!! get a clue, people like you are why these things are happening!!!

I am sick of parents saying "my child wouldn't behave like that" You don't know what your child is doing when you are not around and when they are surrounded by a group of their peers. What makes this so truly tragic is the bullying was observed at the school and nothing was done to intervene. The school officials should be held accountable for not reporting this. I hope they are never able to overcome feeling accountable even if there is too much cowardice to prosecute them as well as the "children". I am particularly sensitive to this subject as we had a young man shoot himself in the head in front of his class in 1994 because he could not take the bullying anymore. The schools in our area have been particularly sensitive regarding this subject because of his suicide. However, now with the internet, it is so much worse for these beautiful young men and women who are targeted as many parents are completely oblivious to what their "angels" are doing.

My child has been the victim of this type of "bullying"...this mother sounds exactly like the mothers of the kids that tormented my child. Obviously they don't know their own children. Treat them like the criminals they are. My heart breaks for her family. If I was in their shoes, I would sell everything I own to go back to the rural area they came from in Ireland, to get away from the hell they have endured in my country.
