Michelle Obama asked to shop Irish while in Dublin

Michelle Obama

First lady Michell Obama has been invited to shop in Irish design stores in Dublin when she is in Ireland with her husband, sources tell Irish Central.

The hope is that Michelle buying Irish goods could provide a massive boost for Irish export companies who sell goods in the US.

It is hoped that the First Lady will take the opportunity to visit an Irish store in the Dublin area, most likely in the Grafton Street area, during the visit.

Mrs Obama is perceived as being the most stylish First Lady since Jackie Kennedy and any endorsement by her of Irish clothes or crafts could be a huge boost for Ireland abroad.

It has also been revealed that President Obama will be asked to sit down with several genealogists to discuss his Irish family tree during the visit.

Again, the image of the president having his Irish heritage explored would be extremely valuable for roots tourism from America.

Final details on the presidential itinerary are set to be decided this week according to sources.

PHOENIXNURSE: Calm down. Only idiots say Obama is Irish. He is not Irish. He is not black, either. Obama is part-Irish, and part-black, and part-white. No sane person would try to claim he is Irish when it is so hard to persuade people he is American!

Once again, STYLISH? not on your patty picking little heart. The woman has not a stylish bone in her big body! She wears some of the uglist clothes and does not understand how to dress for the occasion. I know of white trash that dress better. Mybe the Irish shops can help her out

phoenixnurse: "does he look Irish?!!!" You obviously haven't been to Ireland recently. There are huge numbers of African migrants, legal & illegal (the Irish don't differentiate). Many of them now possess Irish passports. Do those folks look Irish?

Michelle needs to lose weight and practices what she preaches to Kids & Obesity! Her Husband may have a "Spark" of Irish in their family tree way back on his Mother's side but that's not enough to call him an Irishman or make such a big thing out of it... let's be real..does he look Irish?!!!

This Buy Irish campaign is a big swindle. You have companies telling the Irish and tourists in that country to buy Irish-made, but you'll find that these companies only employ Pakistanis and Poles! I'll be the first to support a Hire Irish campaign, but the Irish capitalists won't like it.

Michele is welcome in Ireland just as long as she pays for her self and her support staff....why the American tax payers would have to pay for her is beyond me....when she went to Spain last year the number of support for she and BO was outrageous....
