Yes George, they are from Tennessee which makes them American! You are from America like these guys which makes you American just like them! You hold an Irish passport! Millions do! So what!? Im still totally flattered that you have done exactly what I said you would do! Youve used the name SirPete and I gave you and included it in your posts! You are the most unoriginal poster on here! I looking out my window here down towards Kilmainham Gaol in Ireland and youre looking out your window at the barbed wire fence that surrounds the Institution youre locked up in for your own safety! You are a joke! ''More Irish, actually, since I am steeped in the history, language and literature of Ireland.'' Youre a yank! You were born in, grew up in, went to school in and work in the US! You have an American accent! You live in the US! You are a yank! Just accept it! Live with it! Whats wrong with you? Are you so angry at the world and bitter with my country that you cannot accept that you are an American! In Ireland, you are not viewed as irish! You really need to just accept that and move on!

Oops, reread ciaradildo's silly note. Seems her "friends" are from Tennessee. People from Tennessee are not Irish, you imbecile, unless they hold Irish citizenship!

This ciaradildo is not just a narrow-minded bogoted Little Irelander. She's also the stupidest poster on this site. Why do I say that? Because I have stated openly here on as many as five occasions that I hold Irish citizenship. That means I'm as Irish as you, you oaf! More Irish, actually, since I am steeped in the history, language and literature of Ireland. Unlike you, Oirish ciaradildo! So knock off your repetitive bigotry and prejudice--you're becoming the most boring poster too. By the way, what an inane comment about those guys from Kentucky. Why the hell would they say they're Irish, you imbecile, they're from Kentucky? Are you from Kentcky?

George! YOURE A FOREIGNER IN IRELAND!! Dont forget that! McColgan, I'll admit that most Americans I have met here have completely done my head in but last weekend I had an epiphany. I met 2 lads from Nashville. I was in a pub in Galway waiting for the match to start and they asked if they could sit at my table so I agreed and I ended up having the best buzz with the 2 of them from about 4pm till 10am! Great craic the pair of them and not a single mention of them being 'Irish'. Theyre in Kinsale at the moment and are travelling back to Dublin Thursday and are staying with me till Monday. I cannot wait to see the 2 of them again. They were gentlemen, a joy to be around!

This stuff about bringing jobs to Ireland is nonsense. Half the jobs that go to Ireland--more than half in some sectors--are taken by foreign migrant workers. The money winds up in Poland or Pakistan. It's no gain to Ireland, especially when Pole or Pak starts bringing mom and dad and granma over to live with him ten to a room in Ireland. Then Irish welfare kicks in...

IrelandNorth: As a courtesy to you and to other readers, I will cease fire against the racist madcolgan. However, since this site offers no protection against abusive nuts like madcolgan, I reserve the right to throw back in his lousy racist face any of the bigoted slurs he posts in lieu of thought and informed opinion. But say, I think you're off track when you say "This is an intellectuals website". Apart from me, what other intellectual posts here?

Guy's please! You can make your point without being abusive. This is an intellectuals website. Please preserve decorum. The real cause of Ireland's Celtic Tiger economy being de-taloned was the credit-pushing largely unregulated private bankiing sector, giving 100% unsecured mortgages to gullible borrowers. Read "Inside Anglo: The Bank that Broke Ireland." Redistribute native wealth.

Oh look, another note from King Dildo himself, Mad Mcolgan! Look you racist fool, you really need to get a life if your idea of recreational activity is banging out hate and abuse on a computer terminal. But I won't go away, you know. Racist trash like you will never intimidate me. But please, no more threats of violence from you. Go get help.

"Read the book"? No, Murph, I don't need to read any book. You see, unlike you I am a regular visitor to Ireland. And I travel all around the country. I know what's going on. The place is full of foreign migrants. That includes Poles, since welfare is Ireland is much much better than welfare in poland. And the climate is nicer. And it's prettier. And the cheap RyanAir flights mean they can go home for a few days whenever they please. I suggest you save up and buy an air ticket to Ireland--a visit there might help you know what you're talking about.

Murph: You're right that a quarter of a million Poles came to settle Ireland, but you're wrong to think they went home. Go to any Irish town and you'll see unemployed Poles and other Eastern Europeans hanging around on welfare (the Irish welfare is maybe eight times the value of that they get at home). Plenty enough to live pretty good, and have a little left over for a cheap flight back to Poland now & then to stock up on two bucks a bottle vodka.

Apparently right Bytheby,In Micheal Lewis's book Boomerang he tells of 250,000 Poles coming into Eire during the "tiger"to take construction jobs Irish wouldn't take. When the boom ended they left over 150,000 cars they bought through banks and went home.
