It's funny, I'm actually related to Michael Collins. My mother's maiden name is Collins, and my father enjoys genealogy, and we did some research, and according to some of the information we found, we are very well related to Michael Collins some where along the lines. Yes, I'm a Cork Girl :)
See the stupid hypocrisy and blind thinking of some Irish people. I've noticed this guy antoman (aka plastic paddy) as a big cheerleader for unlimited Mass Immigration to Ireland. He slavers and fawns over what he calls the "new Irish" (what the hell does that mean--maybe they don't want to be Irish). But then he slurs De Valera with this inane remark: "The difference between Dev and Michael Collins is that one is an Irishman and a Corkman at that, and the other is'nt" De Valera was born abroad to an Irish mother (hence that gives him Irish citizenship, you fool, antoman) but more importantly he came back to Ireland at the age of two or three and spent all his life there. In other words he was as Irish as antoman, and a good deal smarter. The fool antoman thinks a Polack who arrives in to Dublin Airport is "Irish" but De Valera wasn't. You truly are a bigoted idiot, antoman.
All honour and success in life becomes a nuisance a great nuisance i believe and fools who find fortune are dismayed by that fact. You are not allowed to play a bad game when you have a great relative.
It's amazing how often people confuse the talent with everyting else about a person. As Topol sang 'when you're rich they think you really know'
STOP PRESS! SIX OUT OF TEN IRISH WISH THEY WERE PROTESTANT!
One of these rare occasions when history is written by the Loser!
The difference between Dev and Michael Collins is that one is an Irishman and a Corkman at that, and the other is'nt.
