Bob Geldof has spoken of his intense pain and sense of loss after the tragic death of his daughter Peaches, who was just 25 years old.
The mother of two was found dead by police at her home in Kent, just outside London, after relatives raised the alarm.
Hours before she died she had posted a photograph of herself with her late mother Paula Yates on social media sites.
Police in England are investigating the death and have said it is being treated as an unexplained sudden death but is not suspicious.
Reports say police found no drugs or evidence of suicide or a suicide note but that a coroner’s report would take two weeks.
Bob Geldof told the media that he could not see how his family could ever get over the loss of such a ‘beautiful child.’
The Live Aid founder said, “Peaches has died. We are beyond pain. She was the wildest, funniest, cleverest, wittiest and the most bonkers of all of us.
“What a beautiful child. How is this possible that we will not see her again? How is that bearable?
“We loved her and will cherish her forever. How sad that sentence is. Tom and her sons Astala and Phaedra will always belong in our family, fractured so often, but never broken.”
The paper reports that in her last message on Twitter, Peaches included a link to the picture of her with a smiling Yates and the words 'me and my mum.'
Her husband Thomas Cohen said he would raise their two boys with ‘their mother in their hearts every day.’
He said, “My beloved wife Peaches was adored by myself and her two sons Astala and Phaedra and I shall bring them up with their mother in their hearts everyday. We shall love her forever.”
Irish President Michael D. Higgins offered his condolences as he began his state visit to Britain.
President Higgins said, “I extend my deepest sympathies to Bob Geldof and his family on the sudden and untimely death of his daughter Peaches.
“This is such a difficult cross to bear for any family and all of our thoughts are with Peaches' family and friends at this time.
“Sabina and I were due to meet Bob Geldof while on the state visit and we are thinking of him at this time of immense loss.”
Peaches’ death is the latest tragedy to befall the Geldof family. Her mum Paula Yates was found dead at her London home following a heroin overdose 14 years ago.
