to UncleBrendan: as the former wife & current mother of alcoholics, who are you kidding??? You are blaming everyone but yourself for you drinking. You are not recovered, you are a dry drunk. Drunks are mean, ME ME people who while under the influence and with the drunkard's personality (which can persist after years of not drinking) wrack you family & friends with guilt, pain, financial instability & severe loneliness. You denigrate a man for not wanting his children to grow up with the direct daily minute to minute infuence of alcohol. Do you think that you would be a good influence on children??? You seem to be the person who hates. The church is to blame, this evil person is to blame, the catholics are to blame for your alcoholic rage & personality. Are they all still to blame after 40 yrs for your homelessness? You need to be a man and accept responsiblity for your actions & choices in life. I congratulate you on sobriety. Now get a life.
I find RFK Jr culpable and I should know.I am an alcoholic sober nearly 40 years and suffer debilitating depression. I also suffered abuse at the hands of a family member and I was close to suicide...close enough to buy the dreaded gun. But I had been sober long enough that God gave me the strength to walk away. I ended up homeless with long term sobriety but I am still alive. My depression level is not as severe with this evil person gone from my life. People like the silly Kennedy boy know the easiest way to get a depressive out of the way is to be abusive. He succeeded and no longer has to fight for custody of his children or give her any money. Those children must hate him. I believe in an after life. I guess these people don't but for the catholic church to give him the pulpit is disgusting. I imagine my comments will arouse the Kennedy lovers and the catholics but I dare them to walk in my shoes.
God bless you Mary
hey maycomb -look at what Teddy did to Joan and the Kennedy parents lobotomized their daughter don't preach to me!
Unless you have ever had to deal with an alcoholic be it a wife a husband a mother or father you cannot put the blame on anyone but the individual. I'm no fan of Kennedy but to blame him is unfair. God help her I hope she is now at peace because addiction and depression is a living hell.
Murph46's human compassion duly noted.
Suffered from depression-well duh! she was married to a Kennedy!
