Co Tyrone native Patrick Carty (32) was arrested and charged with possession of an improvised explosive device (IED) over the weekend in Northern Ireland.

The Guardian reports that Carty was first linked to the discovery of the device in a field at Killybracken Road in Enniskillen in April of last year. He was arrested this past weekend in nearby Coalisland.

Carty’s fingerprints were found on the outside lining of the device according to PSNI.

Having been linked to the IED, Carty is charged with “intent to endanger life or cause serious damage to property.”

The Enniskillen magistrates court was told that the IED, which is commonly used against British armed forces in Aghanistan and Iraq, had never been seen in Northern Ireland during The Troubles.

Bail for Carty was refused with the explanation that there was a risk of interference with witnesses.

Carty’s supporters applauded him as he exited the courthouse after being charged. He is due to have another court appearance in Dungannon next month.

Judge not lest you be judged. The measure you meet will be measured to you again. Take the beam out of your own eye before you attempt to take the speck out of anothers eye. "Vermin" (a term used by Nazi's to dehumanise Jews). "Mutants", a term coined by Hollywood to describe unthinking offspring. "Eejit", the phonetic spelling for the Irish pronounciation of idiot. All protagonists to this much protracted conflict need to be listenend to and incorporated into a genuine peace process, rather than a stage managed and choreographed one for publicity purposes.
I believe the Irish coined a term for his ilk-eejit!
The scary part is the last paragraph:"Carty's supporters applauded him...." He has supporters!
Murph, vermin such as this are incapable of thinking. 99% of people living in NI are happy to be living their lives in peace in recent yeats. Mutants such as this want to disrupt the efforts that have been made by an awful lot of people to end violence in the north.
WTF is he thinking?
