Is Lou Dobbs now for legalizing the undocumented? That definitely seems to be the case after his appearance on Bill O'Reilly's radio show yesterday.
O'Reilly got straight to the point about the new immigration bill currently before the Congress introduced by Congressman Luis Gutierrez. It is a pro-undocumented bill that calls for all those here illegally to have a path to legal citizenship.
The old Lou Dobbs would have hit it out of the park, dismissed it angrily and launched a campaign against it.
Not the new Lou Dobbs.
He told O'Reilly he "did not want to deport" the undocumented, but agreed they should become citizens.
Huh?
He referred to an amendment with such language introduced by Senator Jim Webb of Virginia to the old Kennedy/McCain bill which foundered and Dobbs stated that the essence of the situation was that illegals should "pay a fine, learn English" and commit to becoming good American citizens.
Wow.
Maybe it's Bill O'Reilly or maybe the old Lou Dobbs is disappearing but folks this guy is now talking a different language.
Good for him.

Lou Dobbs never took a position on a pathway to citizenship on his TV Show. What he did do was expose the pro-open borders Irish Central journalists who did not want the public to know what the Washington open-borders lobbyists were quietly doing to get amnesty past in 2008. He enlightened up to 4,500,000 viewers per night during the fight against the Kennedy/McCain Comprehensive Immigration Reform Bill. Lou Dobbs has now made it known what he believes about a pathway to citizenship. Perhaps it is because he is exploring running as an Independent against the seat of New Jersey Senator Menendez in 2012. Dobbs will convince zero voters who are against a pathway to citizenship to vote for him, but if he convinces the New Jersey Blue Dog Democrats and the Independents to vote for him he might get elected. I didn't watch the Bill O'Reilly show, but did Bill O'Reilly ask Lou Dobbs what the Country is to do with over 20,000,000 of our countrymen between the ages of 18-65 who dropped out of high school, are minimum skilled and have given up the hope of ever finding a job? On another point I watched the new Jesse Ventura show "Conspiracy" where he believes all you have to do is "follow the money" as "Deep Throat" told Bernstein and Woodward to find out the real reason our politicans are for a Bill. John McCain's wife Cindy owns a $100,000,000 Budweiser Beer Distributorship in Maracopa County Arizona. What do think Budweiser would do with Cindy McCain's distributorship if John McCain voted against amnesty for all the illegal aliens who drink Budweiser?

The Spanish peoples got their share of North America They people and populate all of Central and South America and Share the South with the Descendants of the Portuguese in Brazil. The United States and Canada were peopled by the Descendants of the British Scots Irish Welsh and English Peoples and later the Germans Italians Poles etc, So now what is happening is the Spanish people are bursting out of their areas in the South and in turn invading the English speaking North this should not be allowed and these people must be put out and forced back to their own countries South of the US border instead of in effect expanding their own territories at the expense of the ever dwindling English speaking Europeans who founded and brought to life this great Democracy.

It does not matter what Lou Dobbs or any other news personality thinks about immigration. These people change their opinions as often as they change their socks. Until present immigration laws currently on the books are enforced, and the loopholes in the law are closed, there cannot be immigration reform.

I just don't understand the politicians in this country!!! Don't they understand what happened in the 80's when they legalized all the undocumented then? What will happen is that the new legals will be able to make more money since they have nothing to hide and there will be millions more that will cross the border to provide work for the companies that only want to pay $5 an hour. They will not be able to stop illegal immigration. I feel bad for the people that are forced to come here to try and have a decent life but our government (both parties) are at fault for encouraging it. Making the same mistake we made in the 80's is not the answer! If we did not take so many of Mexico's poor, they will have to start to take care of their own people so they can stay with their families and homes!!!!! We are like the lifeboats on the Titanic...so many desperate people climbing aboard that we are sinking!

I generally agree with Jim Webb (and that is the first and only time). If you want to be an American citizen, learn the languaue, do the homework and be prepared to pay taxes. Illegal aliens should not have access to certain benefits earned by or paid for by American citizens. Incidentally, Brit Hume expressed his opinion about the benefits of espousing Christianity and I agree with him. He and his wife do - many good things for others - as a good Christian should do. Being a Buddhist certainly hasn't done much for Tiger Woods.

It really doesn't matter what Lou Dobbs thinks. But it certainly DOES matter what the American voters think. They'll be watching, and the mid-term elections are coming.
