It's possible to 100% disagree and despise the political agenda of any POTUS without engaging in personal slurs and derogatory name-calling. If one has a factual basis for his/her opinions, the slurs and name-calling shouldn't be necessary to convince others of the errors in the POTUS's policies and actions, unless one's sole purpose is to inform everyone how much one personally hates/dislikes the POTUS. Harsh criticism of his policies is to be expected. For me, it's the constant PERSONAL bashing and name-calling, and nothing else, that's tiresome. Just my opinion and others are free to post as they wish.
Had a great Sunday night and Monday in Moneygall.
cathy/marty 1. it's "there" not "their". 2. Of course the rightwingnuts spin the necessity of the President to leave Ireland before becoming grounded there as "Up Yours". 3. As nutters as your Obama bashing post sounds, reading it in all caps makes it even more wacked out. Oh, and 4. Calling him by the name he went by when he was young is not only ignorant, it's SO 2008!
cathy/marty "ALL OF 15 MINUTES" Another one of those "fair and balanced" statements. You can see you never saw the coverage. Anyone interested in Obama's visit to Ireland can see for themselves on RTE.com.
GEE BARRY WAS THEIR ALL OF 15 MINUTES,AND THE COUNTRY WENT WILD!!!(AND THEN THE VOLCANO CAME AND BARRY LEFT???) FREE LUNCH AND UP YOURS IRELAND. THANK YOU BARRY.
What a wonderful visit topped off by a great speech in College Green! I'm so glad the President was able to get over to Moneygall as well. They were rewarded for all their preparation with a great visit and President Obama was awarded with a warm, hearty welcome and a foamy pint of plain.
I hear that there are doubts as to whether Falmouth Kearney was really born in Ireland :)
Well Done!! President Obama.Excellent uplifting speech. He was much better then I thought he would be.He was much more relaxed then what he usually is. Nice move taking the phone call from the person in the crowd too.He must have nearly had a heart attack when the limo slammed down on the ramp lol
As Ryan Tubridy says....Time for the main event. Any minute now....
I just watched the visit to Moneygall. The Irish have given Obama an huge incredible embrace.
Jedward are on
College Green is the In Party at the moment
For those of us who missed the potential drama of this weekend's threatened Apocalypse, there is something far more entertaining today. Given Irish Central’s reportage of President Obama’s visit to Ireland, at the invitation of the Taoiseach, today is indeed Doomsday for the “Irish” American Freepers who post comments here. Just by stepping foot on Irish soil, the President has turned up the flame under their collective identity crisis to a high boil. The comments are cringe-worthy, and many willl undoubtedly be CAP-LOCKED. Still, it’s fun to watch the meltdown. First, the Donald and the birthers. Then, Osama bin Laden. And now, this. Maith an fear, a Uachtaráin!
Sorry he should have gone to Disney world, We don't need another politician to tell us how much our past goverments have messed up our country. I love my country and thats why I choose to live here, So barrack stay at home, We will sort our nampy bamby polictions for our-seleves particulary ass-kicking kenny
What is with the vist to `England` and `Queen of England` stuff. Obama is visiting the UK or Great Britian. England is England, UK is Scotland, England, Wales and Northern Ireland. Same with the Queen. Its called the Union of the Crowns and Alex Salmond of the SNP has already indicated any Independent Scotland would be like Canada , Australia & New Zealand in being in the Commonwealth with the Queen as head of State. The Union of the Crowns (March 1603) was the accession of James VI, King of Scots, to the throne of England, thus uniting Scotland and England under one monarch. This followed the death of his unmarried and childless first cousin twice removed, Queen Elizabeth I of England, the last monarch of the Tudor dynasty.
