The Irishcentral story on the American woman who believes she captured the image of Jesus on the Cliffs of Moher has gone viral on the Internet and gone all around the world.
Huffington Post has featured it as its number one story of the day and Yahoo News and The Daily Mail have also given it extensive coverage as have numerous other outlets.
Our original story reported how airline pilot Sandra Clifford from San Francisco visited the cliffs in early November and took several pictures that appeared to show the face of a Jesus like figure.
Local bar owners and customers she showed the photographs to said they had never seen anything like it -- nor have any tourists since.
Teresa O’Flaherty of Gus O’Connor’s pub said that she believed it was “very definitely an image of Christ” when, after being shown the image by Clifford she went to the Cliffs to see for herself.

Don't worry too much about flying on the plane of the pilot who took this picture - Jesus gave us the autopilot system to save us from just such a situation...

Jesus, like most of the people of Mesopotamians, was a Semite. He was born in Canaanite! (modern day Israel). Paul made him into a Lord. He only became Incarnate at the First Council of Nicaea. Jesus was a REBEL! A SAVIOUR of the ordinary people! His leadership (or thanks to his follower, the great orator Paul) put an end to the Roman Empire! We need him, or someone like him, back again to put an end to the domination of those whose greedy maniacial behavior -those who think themselves Emperors of the New World Order- is destroy Democracy around the world, and with it, the Rights and Freedoms of all of us ordinary people. And it was St. Brendan who was the first European to discover America! And it was his tales about seeing Paradise that, when they reached Europe, spurred the curious to begin the search for it. I wonder what would St. Brendan say about Paradise now.

Hope I am never in a plane this unstable pilot is driving! They are just weather-beaten rocks,of course; ... but let's 'go along' with this insanity for a minute: This obviously angry, tormented and bitterly disappointed 'Jesus' is staring out across the Atlantic to the land beyond - probably reflecting what a much more peaceful World it would be, if Columbus had kept his big mouth shut!

Artists for ages have looked for 'faces' in clouds, rocks, random ink splatters.......... and FOUND them too, because the mind is on a relentless search for meaning, and will find it even in chaos...........

Jesus didn't look like a European - he was a Semite having grown up in Israel. Stupid reporting for stupider readers.

I'd like to see the face of Christ on the Christian religion as it is practiced in America by millionaire preachers like Pat Robertson. These people never talk about Jesus or his message - they just go in and find the most hateful passages in the Old Testament - all that peace and love and turn the other cheek stuff just doesn't work for them. This Jesus looks quite a bit like Peter O'Toole in our estimation, which is a bit more appropriate for Ireland.

I don't know about anyone else but could someone please confirm which airline this nut works for as a pilot? Although I would be inclined to check that as many Americans I've met tend to invent glamorous CVs whenever they are abroad and intense catholics do tend to be liars whenever they figure jesus is down with the plan- which is almost always. If she is a pilot I don't want someone up front at the business end of a plane looking around to see the face of jesus in the clouds- give me an atheist pilot with no yearnings to see jesus any day.

It is indeed something unusual. A face? Sure seems so. Who? What? Natural happenstance? Supernaturally intentional? One needs to be VERY careful in seeking to discern such things.

The face on the cliff of Moher is more like Salvador Dali, or King Charles the First! And you say it went viral! What a world! What a world!! Christ, if one is to believe the imagine on the Shroud of Turin, looks like his ancestors the Ashkenazi, who can trace their bloodline back to the Akkandians, (Iraqis) who in turn can trace their bloodline back to the Annunaki, (those of Royal Blood) who in turn came from Outer Space and were therefore Aliens! So Jesus was tall, very dark (thanks to David and Beth Sheba) had black eyes, a slightly African nose and long black curly hair (because he observed ancient religious customs). Two curls hung each side of his face and the rest of his hair was hidden beneath a wide horn-brimmed hat (skullcap; koppel). So Jesus, even when he was on the cross, crucified, was wearing a hat! That was the Law! When he was buried, he was wearing his hat and his prayer shawl! That was the Law too! And Jesus, at age 33 wasn't a young man!

John 1:1,In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. John 1:14,And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us. and we beheld His glory, glory as of the only begotten from the Father, full of grace and truth. Yes we have seen Him, all you have to do is look around and see the beauty that was created by the Father. He was of Jewish looks:therefore, we can imagine he must have looked like a Jewish young man. He is seemingly being seen in many places. I feel that He is trying to draw those of you that do not believe. He wants you to realize that He loves you and wants you to turn your life over to Him. People are so desperate for happiness and they are seeking it in all places, but the only true happiness and joy can come from none other than the Son of God, Jesus Christ. Think about this. If you have an emptiness and can not seem to fill it. Give Him a chance to show you true happiness. I am Dorothy(an only child), just a normal 76 year old grandmother that fell in love with Him as a very young child. I have had many ups and downs, but He has always been there for me and carried me through the rough places, even the loss of my only son, who died of cancer(hodgkins) at the age of 29, he would be 54 now (I have 4 daughters also). Give some serious thought as to your happiness, Is it eternal or just a breeze floating by for a season. His happiness is eternal.

Complete rubbish. If you look long enough, you'll find Jesus' and anyone else's face in a rock formation of your choice.

The ridicule of this poor woman has gone far enough. Let her see what she needs to see. How many Catholic charismatics praying in "tongues" having visions and healngs, carried along by priest's (some unscrupulous), and all acceptable to the church. What is bewildering, there's never any inclination as to the despair of Jesus with the abuse of so many of his children, including in more recent times, the "apparitions" of his mother, in Medjugorje.
mamaginnty | Nov 15, 2011, 02:52 PM EST
Just hope he does not look anything like this pic, the eyes actually look quite evil.
carolstepp | Nov 15, 2011, 01:43 PM EST
Considering no-one actually knows what Jesus looks like, I could look at this photo and see just about anyone I want to. I don't recall either any photos (no cameras) nor any artist claiming to have painted Jesus so we know what he looked like. But I figure he was born a Jew, and probably was short and dark and had short hair, just like any other man in the Israel/Palestine of the time.

Looks like Saruman to me. It could be thousands of faces.
jamieLM | Nov 15, 2011, 11:30 AM EST
Jesus? The image looks like a guy I know who plays in a rock band. Like any of us knows what Jesus really looked like.
NiGhabhainn | Nov 15, 2011, 10:26 AM EST
Why Jesus?? Why not an old Celtic King or druid. It does look like a face, but when someone tells me who exactly it is, I wonder how did they come up with that one! Plenty of people jumped off those cliffs..Maybe its a spirit lingering, or just a fabulous imagination!!!!!!!!!

My Mom noted this morning that one of fallen big oak branches below the house here reminded her of a dinosaur. Did not look a dinosaur to me. Things are in the eye of the beholder

I'm not sure this is the kind of press Erin needs but if it will help the local economy tourist-wise, perhaps it is not such a bad thing, eh?
IronMountainMovies | Nov 15, 2011, 09:30 AM EST
The face of Jesus in a cliff? That's nothing I tell you! I saw the face of Cliff Richard in a tree stump in my back garden! 2012 is coming! We're all doomed! Doomed I tell you! Ah well there is an upside. At least we'll get the IMF/ECB off our backs!
colkelley | Nov 15, 2011, 09:29 AM EST
They're not daft...this is better than the face of Jesus on a piece of toast that sold for $35,000. Publish this in Spanish-speaking countries and reap the benefits of tens of thousands of folks gawking at this simian (monkey-like) image and spending money locally.
Springfield9 | Nov 15, 2011, 09:25 AM EST
Looks more like Justin Bieber
