The reason there was so few lifeboats was most likely that Titanic was just assumed to be unsinkable,one headline statement in a British paper of 1912 that's on view in the Cobh (Queenstown at the time)Heritage Centre in Cork,the last port of call before NYC states even God himself could'nt sink this ship Titanic.
bit late for all this nonsense now
They hit an iceberg but the real tradegy was man made.
The whole Titanic deal was about profit over anythin g else, safety was not as important as profit, capitalism at it's best.
