Leading Irish journalist in underage sex probe

A prominent national newspaper journalist is being investigated on suspicion of improper sexual relationships with an underage teenage girl RTE Ireland’s state broadcaster, has reported.
Police in Dublin started the investigation when it became clear there was significant contact between the adult and the child.
The investigation began after family members of the girl discovered it and complained to police.
Irish detectives have interviewed the girl who is in her mid teens and found compromising phone and text messages which were exchanged.
Police have yet to talk to the journalist about the allegation.
