A judge has postponed sentencing on an Irishman found guilty of bestiality in which a woman died.
Sean McDonnell from Limerick had met a woman on a bestiality chat line. She later had sex with a dog in his home but she died soon after reports the Irish Times.
It was originally believed she had an allergic reaction to the animal sex but that has not been proven.
The woman was a 48-year-old separated mother from Limerick.
Police Officer Pádraig O’Dwyer stated that while the woman and the dog engaged in an act of bestiality, the exact cause of death could not be determined.
O’Dwyer stated the woman had agreed to have sex with the dog after the couple had met on the Internet.
McDonnell’s computer had 3,500 comments on bestiality forums that he had contributed to.
His computer has “extensive activity in pornography and bestiality websites,” the court heard.
The dog was destroyed last week.
Lawyer Isobella Kennedy, defending, said: “My client would not have been prosecuted save for the lady in question passing away. The lady fully consented. There was no form of coercion or duress.”
Judge Carroll Moran described it as “a very unusual case” and said sentencing would take place on December 14th.

It's too late now but I wish that t poor dog could have been saved, what did it do wring , What did it do wrong? Nothing it was jst the victim of two utterly repulsive, disgusting perverts. Like others here I don't understand the rational of killing the dog. Dogs don't make moral decsions, they act on instinct. The dog was not a willing particpant in an illegal act. It would be interesting to hear the judge explain this action.

With everything else written, I want to add that I seriously doubt that the pet dog consented to sex with a human. This is sad writing to say that the dog was "destroyed." This was a creature in the universe and perhaps putting the dog to sleep was best for it, but to simply use the word "destroyed" shows as much insensitivity as the man who forced his dog to have sex with a human. The Irish Central authors need to realize that in this day and age, especially in North America, domesticated animals are considered members of the family and insensitive writing is not always appreciated.

The article doesn't even state what the man was charged with. What was his crime - simply allowing the woman to have sex with his dog? And on what grounds did they murder the dog?
