The FBI have said they are closing in on Irish American gangster, James “Whitey” Bulger”, who they believe has ties to Dublin. Bulger has been on the run for 16 years and is now one of the FBI’s most wanted.
They now believe that Bulger has links to Ireland and even has a bank account set up in Dublin according the Evening Herald. He is believed to still be travelling with his girlfriend, Catherin Greig (59). She has had “extensive” plastic surgery.
Bulger, now aged 81, has been on the FBI’s Most Wanted List since 1999. There is a bounty of $1.9 million on his head. He is wanted for 19 counts of murder, racketeering, money laundering and drug dealing in Boston.
His girlfriend, Greig, is also wanted for harboring Bulger in 1995 when he was indicted for murder in Boston.
Last week Richard Teahan, head of the Bulger Task Force spoke to the Boston Globe. He said “A lot of leads and tips have come in both domestically and internationally…We are committed to this case…We just think it's important not to give up and to keep pushing.
"Worldwide exposure is what will cause him to be apprehended."
Kevin J. Weekes, a former associate of Bulger, also told the Boston Globe that he believes Bulger is living in Europe.

I imagine he's a lonely old man hiding out somewhere like S America. If he was found in Ireland he'd be toast. What kind of life to be sitting/lying in bed inside a window being spoon fed by his moll.

There is no way that he is in Ireland. He "ratted out" the IRA on the Valhalla. If he is in Ireland and that's a BIG "IF", it's not a very smart move.

Maybe he's working here in an Irish Bank or for the Fianna Fail party? Stranger things have happened!

The press announces the FBI thinks he's in Ireland so if he was there, he isn't anymore. The Fed should keep their tips away from the media if they want to catch Whitey (which I'm not really sure they do).

I suspect the feds will "catch" Whitey when old age catches up with him and his body is returned to a funeral home in South Boston. I must make a point I have made before. Whitey's brother, the Hon. William M. Bulger, is a friend of mine and I will never disown him.
