Irish woman victim of vicious assault in the Bronx

I agree 100% with 'irishcoffeekid'. My reaction to this article is one of utter disbelief. I wouldn't even entertain the thought of walking around Toronto at 4 a.m. let alone The Bronx. Plain and simple, these girls exercised poor judgement.

why any women are walking around at 4am in the morning in the Bronx or anywhere else defies logic to begin with. Added to that if some oddball bloke stopped me at 4am in the morning asking had i ordered a taxi, i'd say ya i have my brother is a taxi man and he's just down there - i'd not say "no i havent" and make it obvious i'm walking home. They made stupid mistakes for sure - they didnt deserve what happened but people need to cop on to themselves - you wouldnt do anything that half brained in Ireland, why the hell would you do it in the USA. stupid decision for sure.

Unfortunately , it's only a matter of time until Woodlawn becomes the next Bainbridge. Random attacks and then a murder or two and the Irish will disappear seemingly overnight.Heaven forbid that the media sould identify this animal as non-white because above ALL ELSE we must not discriminate or be judgemental. Where did it all go so wrong?

A description of the attacker might be helpful. Is it because he was black that it is not being reported? Unbelievable!!!!!

Living as I do in the fashionable West Village, every day I see young women walking around, mostly not alone. Still, occasionally I will see an individual, inebriated -- i.e., someone walking unsteadily on, e.g., high heels -- young woman alone, sometimes in the nearby meatpacking district. One time a young lady was walking towards the Hudson river, which is dangerous for several reasons. There are predators out there who look innocent enough. Don't forget that Sandusky looks a bit like Wallace of "Wallace of Gromit" clay animation fame.
