  Oh ya he was born with his skin hanging off his bones no muscle tone at all much like a severe case of cancer he had extreme gargoyle features that at first sugessted downs syndrome which would have been more pronounced as he grew older, n as time went on he could have gone on to be blind, deaf n went on to have encephaly n seizures. His mother I guess because she was shuned by his care givers in the hospital un hooked his stomach tube n tried to walk out with him only to be talked into allowing them to care for him in his first three months in the hospital, he was also addicted to cocaine n extasy as well !! In his two yr short life he was a happy lil guy some days he could roll back n forth on a small bed type playpen my friend had made for him while on a gel pad for his his bones n see lights above him n play with toys dangling from a make shift canopy, n he was very much loved too !! He didn't live long enough to go blind or deaf n never had any seizures either he was smart too she taught him sign language n could tell you when he wanted his bottle, having no muscle tone meant having to assist in bowel movement with suppositories as he would signal with clicking sounds from his throat to tell her !! N of course no one was charged with anything, again no justice for the innocence !!

  I have seen the effects of this first hand, one of my friends took a baby in at 3mos old as a catholic hospital was goin to just starve him to death !! He was born with many bone fractures after a difficult labor, which ended up him bein born by ceserian section, he could not suck n had to have special nipples on his bottles. He had a hole in his heart, an enlarged spleen n liver, brital bones that looked like osteoporitis (sp)" , an emlarged tougue that protruded from his mouth, even his skin was effected as he couldnt maintian a constant body temperature, he nevr walked talked or grew any teeth, these poor kids should they live passed the age of two yrs go through a lot n that depends on how close the genetic make up is ( he was the product of a brother n sisiter)r he was put on morphine for his bone pain after a nurse tried to burp him n broke his rib, you could not really hold him because he hurt constantly his digestive system was severly compromised as he could not digest milk or meat he had to survive on a milk substitute n fruit n veggies alone, he couldn't even sit comfortably in an upright position for any length of time cause of his bone problems, during his short 2 year life he contracted pneumonia twice in his last four months of life, n his tiny 2 yr old14 lb body could not utilize antibiotics at all as he was on them just after his birth that caused him to develop an ingruinal hernia, and again when he had the 2 bouts of pneumonia, so all in all the docs said that they couldn't even operate on the hernia because the force of putting an oxygen tube down his throat would have broke his neck, so anyone who thinks this father daughter thing isn't a bad idea what ya think now ??

I was under the impression that the reason behind it being illegal is the basic genetics issues, not necessarily the moral implications which is really none of my business. I personally don't like it but it's not up to me to decide how others should live their lives. It's between them and their God.   This is beyond sick, especially since it was intentional and both knew what they were getting into. But it's a very real unintentional consequence of sealed adoption/birth records for adopted people (in Ireland and here in the US). Millions of people completely unaware of their origins run the risk of meeting and becoming genetically sexually attracted to a natural family relative. And just wait till all those sperm-donation children grow up and inadvertently meet up with their brother/sister.   As a birthmother who is somewhat knowledgeable about adoption law, I do not believe that their relationship is technichally "illegal" (the morality of it is a different matter, which I will not weigh in on at this time). Adoption (at least in the US) severs ALL connection between the parent and child. A new, amended birth certificate is issued, which states that the adoptive parents gave birth to the child, even listing the hospital where this make-believe event occurred. The child's real birth certificate is sealed forever. Therefore, from a legal perspective, there is nothing whatsoever "illegal" about these two people marrying. In the eyes of the law, they are not related in any way.

  This child's Genetic problems will not show up on a scan! The child will probable have learning disabilities, visual and auditory difficulties too. This young woman was probable abused by her family in more than one way, so I doubt she is stable enough to care for a child born of incest. Her father took off on her before and so he will probable bale out again! I'll like to hear what happens to this woman in four years time. If she is not financially secure, she should be made aware the Social Welfare Department in American, like it is in Ireland, frowns on such relationships. There are a couple of facts they failed to consider when making the decision to sleep together as sexual partners.They failed to take into consideration the health issues the unborn may develop as a result of the similarity in the DNA factor. The child may be born with handicapps due to the similarity of the DNA. Their decision was not only incest, but it was selfish and without consideration of the consequences of their action morally, and spiritually. After all, the principals say they're afraid the law will split them up, but the only way the law will know is by them blabbing their story to everyone in Ireland on Irish Central (readership-over a gazillion!), so I call BS on this story. I must say, though, that I liked the "we're not committing incest, we're victims of GSA" line.

  GSA is just another excuse. The bio father needed to act like a father and develop the relationship into a father/daughter one. I don't care if they had never seen each other before, it doesn't change what the relationship is....father/daughter. What.....did he really see the mother in this young woman and tried to re-live his relationship with her. The mother's parents probably were right about him in the first place. There are genetic concerns that may appear later....sonograms don't show it all. All you have to do is look back on the history....esp. during mideval times with inter-marriage and the problems that developed within the children.

  Gentic Sexual Attraction is totally understandable taking into account a parent who has never had the baby in their arms to hold and bond to as nature intended...however it is the parent's responsibility to safeguard the boundaries between love and the sexual expression of that love. To say that he had "fallen for her" is not excusable, He has crossed the boundary and violated a parental responsibility to his daughter, that of never causing her harm. Another baby has been created, incestually, that means this parent was willing to take the risk of harming not only his daughter but another being by taking a chance on the baby being "fine" I think society should support them and not brandish them in any way as long as they are happy and fulfilled, but the question will always remain...what kind of father could cross that boundary? Even as a confused man, He could have researched it but no, he impulsively impregnates his own daughter!! yeeackk!no matter how in love she is, she will be angry one day

  I can understand how people feel about this, but think, you might meet a complete stranger find out he's your father, you just can't have the feelings you would have if being there from birth. This had to have been happening up until birth certs and blood test were in use. People travelling around the world not knowing who was who. It might be disgusting to a lot of people, but I can understand why it happens. I don't condone, but I feel sorry for them. The way the world is now it is going to happen more and more.
