Agree Murph - it most probably WAS a level playing field as they were ALL at it. The mistake then is WINNING, cos it's the winner that takes the flack as the rest gang up on him. Maybe there's a lesson there.

As for (@like2tweet) him doing "remarkable work for cancer" - every celeb with skeletons in their closet does great "charity" work as it's an insurance policy that protects them. Just look at what Jimmy Savile got away with! (There's another lesson there in how our nation prioritises and funds the essential work that is carried out by charities.)

If everyone in these races, and for that matter in other professional sports, refrained from PED's then we would still have competitive races, and celebrate the winners. It's the media who feeds the need for over-the-top performances, [i.e. Barry Bonds hitting 73 homers in a season] that sets the tone for cheating.

irishpjk, I would drop the name ..'irish' from your name, like2tweet..'remarkable work for cancer' the drugs he had been feeding people for years cause a lot of cancers. Plus he made a fortune from it. Drug dealer comes to mind.

The curse of the Irish over the years, help your friends break the law, have a few drinks, go on a guilt trip, cry in your beer then become an informer and pray for forgiveness, nothing much has changed.

I think someone should look up the names of the customs officials that were working that night and have a talk with them.
