Irish teacher awarded over $900,000 in damages for sexual abuse claims

It seems the status of teachers in Ireland has followed that of their counterparts here, namely downwards. It's common to hear of downright disrespect, violence, sexual insults and harassment, threats etc. etc. in our schools. And, as I have relatives who are teachers in Ireland, I have heard exactly the same stories from over there. This case shows how irresponsibly the incompetent Irish bureaucracy can act. With impunity, it seems, as there is no mention of anyone involved in this harassment getting their asses kicked. It's the same story always in Ireland. Incompetence and ignorance on all sides of the ruling apparatus.
