Well the Union Jack is not allowed to fly above Belfast City Hall everyday, so I don't see why the Irish tri-colour should be allowed above this pub.

I am one of those U.S. citizens who is very PROUD to be Irish, even though I was born in England and have spent the last half a century in the U.S. I display the Green, White and Orange flag on my garage, also the Stars & Stripes, but at a higher level, in accoddence with protocol. I perceive the Tri-Color as the flag iof the whole Irish nation, never the banner of the Southern Irish State. Go mbeadh an t-ádh ar na deirfiúracha Cuilleáin agus go mbeadh ár mbratach álainn ag eitilt fgo deo.

What do you suppose the chances are that if it was a restaurant that was frequented by Muslims and flew , lets say a flag from Iraq, Iran, Pakistan or any other mostly Muslim country, that the town would ask them to take it down in the first place.....

BoysofBantry: "What is that unattractive looking meal on the plate?" That's their version of an Irish Stew. Run that up the Flagpole and see how long before it gets you running too!

Good news. Now we need to push further in land. As far as Texas. I will dispatch five thousand Cork people immediately.

It is interesting the the Florida 'Jobsworths' did not take on the Peabody Hotels and other international hotels which display the flags of all nations outside. It strikes me as the act of an over zealous xenophobist; Probably an NRA member as well!

I am delighted the Limerick sisters won. Not only will it allow them to continue their St. Patrick's Day tradition, it also was an important victory for freedom of speech. The ladies have a U.S. Constitutional right to fly the Tricolour just as the Greek restaurant down the street has to fly its national flag.

Congratulations to these attractive four sisters from Limerick. What is that unattractive looking meal on the plate?
