A team of researches from the National University of Ireland (NUI) have mapped out the reason two single cells fused together into one living organism two-billion years ago to create human life.

"This was a remarkable event, which appears to have happened only once," said Dr. James McInerney, a senior biologist at the college.

"These two primitive single cell life forms came together in an event that
essentially allowed nature to grow big."

McInerney said not only will the research explain a lot of unsolved questions about human evolution it will also map out how insects, animals and plants came to be.

According to the Herald newspaper, the team have gathered information using genetics “from the mapping of the yeast genome, evidence of two originally single cells, known as prokaryotes, were discovered in a eukaryote which formed with a nucleus.”

“Researchers were able to show that yeast - a model system for molecular biology - contained one eukaryote genome which came from two distinct different prokaryote genomes.”

Said McInerney, "It is in the nucleus that we find the DNA of all species, and for years it had been a puzzle as to how the first nucleus was created. Now we know."

God bless you all! My version of the "big bang theory: God said "Bang!" and life was created. Wish the scientists would research something more productive, like the cure for cancer. The creation of the world was taken care of, long ago.
Now we know!
jacersisityourself - then why did the chicken cross the road?
Bravo jacersisityourself
(...cont’d) So may I propose putting the argument of God and Science to bed with the following allegory?:- Borrowing from the scientists’ conclusions, that they were able to “... show that yeast - a model system for molecular biology - contained one eukaryote genome which came from two distinct different prokaryote genomes.”, may I suggest names for the two prokaryotes - Adam for one and Eve for the other? Of course we cannot, in this scenario, but give the name God the Prime Creator to the protein that comes before (as Creator) and after (as Jesus, the Son of God). We all are eukaryotes, born out of two (prokaryotes) people, one a woman, one a man - and above all of one “protein" - God Almighty - Who looks after us all before our life begins and after it ends. Let's think about that next Christmas (born) and next (y)Easter (death and resurrection). Whichever way you look at it, God has us all in His eggshell IMHO.
But hey c'mere - before anyone comes back and says “But crocodiles have eggs too!” may I use an Irish fun reference such as to the allegory in the Nile [geddit?? – (alligator in denial?? - Ah for flip's sake....!!) *chuckling*]? And let’s not stir up the old joke of "The Chicken and the Egg were having a smoke in bed together afterwards; the Chicken says to the Egg: "Well, we now know who came first". Seriously, the extraordinary other scientific conclusion of the scientists of the NUI and of Sheffield University (UK) that was not reported widely by most media, is that the protein that they discovered comes both before and after the eggshell. Before and after – get that bit. (Cont’d...)
If anyone has read the article above carefully and also checked out its veracity anywhere else online, they will know that we are basically talking about the Chicken and Egg principle – which came first? Since science has now declared proven that the chicken came first and that a certain protein produced only by chickens creates the eggshell, intelligent questioning might have it that if science has shown that the chicken’s protein is capable of producing the protective eggshell, where does what is inside the eggshell come from? Maybe it’s a bit like asking why our woman species has a womb to protect a newly conceived life until born and a man does not. It blows the LBGT Brigade’s arguments for equality out of the water.
It was never a puzzle to me. GOD DID IT. By the way you used the right word "created" not evolved. Better change that one fast. DUH!

and here all along I though it was the Guinness
Someone said it was from monkeys others believe it was within 6k years beginning. Who cares really - a few.
As STEPcoach said "OH GOOD GRIEF PEOPLE! We're Irish! We have more common sense than to fall for this crap." That is why I am so thankful that God gave us the ability to reason and understand so that we do not blindly follow those people like STEPcoach. Science gives understanding with the God given thing called intelligence. Science allows us to have even more respect for life and the universe. It also allows us to ignore those people who refuse to learn from science. Yes we are Irish and we can honor God by learning all we can about everything God gave us!
OH GOOD GRIEF PEOPLE! We're Irish! We have more common sense than to fall for this crap. "This was a remarkable event, which appears to have happened only once"! What malarkey! Who was there at the beginning of life to witness it? In Job 38 God says: 2“Who is this that questions my wisdom with such ignorant words? 4Where were you when I laid the foundations of the earth? Tell me, if you know so much....21 But of course you know all this! For you were born before it was all created, and you are so very experienced!" And: Proverbs 15:2 The tongue of the wise uses knowledge aright: but the mouth of fools pours out foolishness. Don't let these idiots confuse you as they rattle out their stupid theories about what they want to think happened. Only one source tells us authoritatively what happened in the beginning when God created life - His Word. You know this! You've been taught it from childhood. Our history and culture teaches that we are a Godly people who teach knowledge to the world, not that we are fools who pander after the newest ideas that so called science spouts out. You're Irish, by God. Honor Him with your faith.
