Why do you call it 'pulpit fiction'? Aside from the obvious pun. Saying Jesus never existed may not be in line with Catholic teaching but seeing as there is no definitive proof one way or the other about Jesus - the use of the word 'fiction' says more abut the authors own beliefs than an interest in proper journalism.
