An Irish police body has revealed that their staff were denied “basic human needs” during President Obama and Queen Elizabeth’s visits to Ireland. They were denied hot food, toilet breaks and relief from work for up to 18 hours at a time during the State.

The Garda (Police) Representative Association (GRA) has said that “unnecessary hardship” was inflicted on their members in some cases. The evidence will be presented to the Garda Commissioner so these mistakes are not made again.

The association said that it did not want to wash its dirty “laundry in public” as a celebratory mood swept across the nations following the two state visits.

Speaking to the Garda Review, the GRA’s official journal, the General Secretary PJ Stone congratulated the police for successfully policing the state visits.

He said "The association also praises the endurance and resilience of our members while completing long tours of duty at short notice and in cases denied basic human needs for protracted periods of time…As a result, many of our members felt undervalued by Garda management, and where long-standing agreements on basic conditions of employment were breached, or ignored, to complete the operation.

Stone said the management and supervision levels feel beneath agreed standards of welfare expected in modern policing.

"At this juncture, we are cognizant not to wash our laundry in public, especially in the light of the positive reaction we have received from outside of the organization, but as a staff association, we must address where lessons can be learned from the future and use our collective strength to redress where mistakes or poor practice placed unnecessary hardship on individuals."

Did you see the Ban Garda (Female Irish Police Officer)turning away and 'pissing herself laughing' when the mighty multi-million dollar, nuclear bombproof mobile cage was stopped dead in its tracks by a little Dublin gate-stop? What price a tape of what went on inside the vehicle at that moment? Pure comedy gold!
Politicians cover there mistakes with money, cooks with mayonaise, doctors with dirt and police behind bars..........
I guess this means I don't get a plastic detective badge in the post. :(
@antoman: You are typical traitor of Ireland. You have had months to figure out why opinions are illegal in law and the damage done to Irish People and you can't. You are too thick to use reading, writing and arithmetic to expose treason in Ireland. You are a politicians best friend, too thick to work out simple things.
@Loyalcitizen-Are you transmitting from a device in prison what were smuggled in via someone's arsehole?
Judging me without evidence, pretending to use opinions in law. Leaving me to starve while financing the traitors of Ireland. Leaving me to starve while financing American Corporations. Every person employed in law lying to me. You could say i am pissed, but they started me on a path to discover all of their crimes and the establishment in Ireland is rotten to the core, especially those employed in law are traitors.
@Loyalcitizen-I take it you were hard done by the law?
@antoman: Irish Politicians and the establishment have been falsifying the rule books of Ireland from day one. The purpose of falsifying the rule books is to ensure they can falsify the accounts and not face charges. Or in other words the reason to use opinions in law is to commit crimes and hide the evidence. What Ben Dunne did with the scum Haughey is just the tip of the iceberg.............@mamaginnty: I mean that successive so called Irish Governments have been stealing from social welfare recipients for decades and nobody gets protection by law, which is crimes against humanity. The Garda are civil servants who turn up and collect the salary. The Garda know about the crimes against social welfare recipients and did nothing, again. They knew about child abuse by the priests and did nothing. The Garda know all about the abuse of opinions in law and do nothing. The Garda exist to put the poor in jail and collect a salary and that's all.
Jamthecat...I applaud you. Cillowen...she is NOT our queen. Loyalcitizen...I do hope you were not implying that the welfare recipients are frauds. Or did you mean that it was the government who were to blame, if so I would definitly agree with you on that. The rank and file Gardia did a good job, Timbobdennehy...that was one day, from 5am duty till almost midnight.
@Loyalcitizen-Ben Dunne gave Charlie Haughey a cheque for 1 million pounds.Thats a pittance compared to what the Germans and French paid for our Island.
@antoman: Maybe you should spend less time at this site and learn to be loyal by looking at so called Irish Government sites. If you do the research and find out how the traitors have stealing from the Irish people through out the history of Ireland then you might be proud to be a "Loyal Irish Citizen". Some day it has to be exposed and it won't be exposed by you spending all of your time here at this site.
I fully support the Garda Representative Association !! They are underpaid and overworked !!
@Loyalcitizen-I feel like I'm not alone in saying this but no one understands what you've been harping on about for months now.
@antoman: Again you demonstrate why you should not open your mouth in public and that you cannot work out the simplest of things. You are an asset to the traitors of Ireland....I reveal that i have have been doing huge amounts of research into treason covering decades and the best you can come out with is to ask a stupid question. You must be another Irish Person collecting a salary for something you cannot do or figure out. Are you a member of the Garda? Are you a Civil Servant? Are you a Judge or Politician? A fraudster who does not know how to work?
And out come the anti-Obama trolls blaming him for the sun setting sooner than they wanted and for winter being in their future. It's pathetic. The fault for this lies with the Garda and their bosses, not the people they were protecting, and I think the rank and file did an amazing job, considering. They're to be applauded, not bitched at...not that the usual suspects making comments on this site won't still whine and complain about anything they don't like, like spoiled 12 year olds.
