Just hang the stupid bastard. He'd deserve it. Ooh better! Torch him. Maybe the pain he feels will equal the pain he has caused to all those innocent children....and while you're at it, Ireland, don't stop there, Burn out all the muslims who are trying to pass their filthy laws over you so that they may continue the "Cardinal's" Noble work of raping the young Children and Women.

Kickstar, I enjoyed your spirited response to jacers.. As this seemingly unending tragedy continues to unfold there is little to be humorous about but your post gave me a chuckle. Jacers.. brief lesson on canon law was, of course, nonsense, as you point out. It was also pathetic, immoral and sickening - in the sense that it justified the clergy's conduct in using canon law as a shield to protect the perpetrators of horrific crimes against children. And the State, it's police and its judiciary colluded with the church. Yes, I do believe that Cardinal Brady should resign.

'jacersisityourself' What kind of eejit are you "Canon law is above ANY STATE LAW" Are you insane?? Article 44 Irish Constitution separates church from state.. We WE The Irish people make the laws NOT the church as you will soon see. These Stinking filthy cover ups were nothing to do with CANON law they were to do with forcing little Sodomized Babies to keep stoom by threatening them with nightmarish criminal odious threats and illegal oaths. And an over trusting and over respectful Roman Catholic police officers who could not imagine a man of the Cloth doing wrong.. So what you are saying is that it is not Bad enough what these Weakling Spineless Scum done Raping defenseless Babies But now you want to blame Jesus Christ FOR IT because he forced them to take Canon Law to hide behind. You are a mental case if you believe a fraction of what you say, and you should seek urgent medical help. I am sure Big Mary Harney can help you.

It must be wonderful for a cardinal to be able and willing to hide behind canon law, Instead of taking full responsibility for his actions,But was it not the same catholic church of Rome ( all them Boyo`s in skirts) that stood by and let the Nazi march the people they had decided were Unter mensch to the gas chamber, What makes anyone think that the bunch of queers and perverts that now pass themselves off as men of god haven`t learned their lessons well by example.

On TomSwinfords point re Canon Law, the Catholic Church is unswerving in its view that Canon Law is above any State’s Law. Why? Well, it is given by Christ - “Whatever you bind (anywhere) on earth shall be also bound in Heaven”. The point about this is that the Apostles and their descendants did not ask for this; they were told by Christ to do it. Thus they are obligated to that instruction of Christ, which is one reason why Canon Law exists. “Go, tell everyone”, said Christ. Modern journalists are clearly forgetting or blatantly ignoring the importance this edict to all Christians. Posters on ICentral, especially those who declare themselves as non-believers in God or Roman Catholicism and who spend their time disparaging Catholicism on ICentral’s pages should refrain from throwing spears at something that doesn’t exist for them. “Not even the gates of hell will prevail” against us who seek and follow Truth.

Yes, it is very worrying at what the Press are coming up with these days for the Irish Church and yes, we all want the truth to come out. But we have to keep things in perspective here and I believe there are press people on the hunt for news that embarrasses people or gets our goat up over things. Others jump on the vocal bandwagon. Frequently the Press people are proved later to be wrong and end up paying substantial damages to the people they’ve wrongly embarrassed. The Cardinal is getting strong support for his position – the latest this evening here in Ireland, on the eve of St. Patrick’s Day, whereby he is being exonerated of responsibility and now the Press people are beginning to think they might have got it wrong on Cardinal Brady’s position after all.

There is no end to this horror. Cardinal Brady has assumed the infamous and long ago legally and morally rejected Nuremberg defence: "I was just following orders." He ordered two young girls that had been repeatedly raped by a monster over an extended period of time to take a vow of silence. This, according to Brady, was in keeping with the Canon Law of the Church - which, to Brady, trumped the law of the land. I read in today's Irish Independent about the six year old girl in a Belfast orphanage, abused by this same profoundly evil priest. Her detailed story of what happened to her would break your heart. Thankfuly, Brady was not there to force his vow of silence on her and to warn her that her six year old soul would be damned to Hell for all eternity if she ever spoke of this terrible crime to anyone. Under Irish law Brady, by his own words, was guilty of criminal conspiracy to obstruct justice. Brady and his superiors, of course, had nothing to worry about - for the Gardai and the State would not cross the line to challenge the omnipotent Church and its Canon Law. The result: unconscionable crimes against children went on, not for decades but for centuries. And I do not believe for a moment that under its current leadership, its Canon laws and its unholy traditions of secrecy and self-preservation at any cost, that it can reform itself.
