The heartbroken parents of a Dublin teenager missing for over four years have appealed to U2 frontman Bono to help bring her home.

Amy Fitzpatrick hasn’t been seen since she disappeared near the family’s Spanish house on New Year’s Day 2008.

She was just 15 when she vanished and her mother and stepfather have now released a book in a desperate attempt to find any clues in their search for their daughter.

They have also pleaded with Bono to help highlight the case after growing increasingly frustrated with the lack of help from the Irish government and political leaders.

Stepfather Dave Mahon told the Irish Sun newspaper of his ‘frustration’ at the lack of help from Irish Presidents or Prime Ministers as they try to solve the mystery of Amy’s disappearance from the resort of Fuengirola.

Mahon told the paper: “We do not want money. But it would be easy for Bono to do a show in Brazil, Ireland or England and say Amy Fitzpatrick is missing.

“The power those people have is what we want because we are getting nowhere fast.

“We are after being through three Taoiseachs (Irish Prime Ministers). We want their help.

“If it was Bertie Ahern’s or Enda Kenny’s name, if it was one of their kids missing it would be a totally different story.”
