Irish nun in New York raises funds for Gonzalez family who lost seven in car crash tragedy
Sister Trinity organizing bake sale and garage sale to raise funds
A Galway nun based in New York is organizing a fundraising benefit for the Gonzalez family who tragically lost seven members of their family in a Bronx car accident in April.
Sister Trinity, originally from Kilconnell, Co. Galway, is organizing a garage and bake sale at the Franciscan Sisters Convent 253 Knickerbocker Toad in Tenafly, New Jersey on June 3 and 4.
“When I heard about it on the radio, it struck me that I should be something,” she told the Irish Voice.
“The accident was a dreadful thing,” Sister Trinity added. “Please God we can help.”
Jonel Gonzalez lost three generations of his family in a tragic car accident in the Bronx on April 29. Among the victims were his mother, aunt, grandparents and sister. They lost their lives with their SUV crashed on the Bronx River Parkway.
The proceeds from the garage bake sale will go towards the education fund for the family. For more information on the fundraising event contact Michelle at 201-568-7272.
