Now that governments, be they state or national, are withdrawing restrictions on who can marry, it is quite ludicrous that anti bigamy laws should remain unreformed. I can see that property questions may enter into it, but a simple reform would be to say that the first married is the one who has inheritance rights. Government should stay out of the bedroom.
