What's the real 2013 Eire Gathering about Portia777?

I'd like to know what Taoiseach Kenny has to say about the boycotting by the Dáil government of the N.Y.C. St. Patrick's Day parades of 1983 and 1985, because the democratically elected Grand Marshals of both parades were not acceptable to the Dáil crowd.

So, after a lifetime away from Ireland because I (and a very great many of my generation) had to leave because the country could not provide employment or even a decent education for it's own people we are now being asked to come "home" and spend our money. Funny, I never felt especially singled out for any kind if welcome until now. I won't be going.

Just another reminder of how much Good 2.6 Million Dollars might do the people who need it most ? And no, I`m not talking about David Cameron and Angela Merkel

Someone should tell Kenny that Americans know the meaning of Failte and he should be proud to use it.

Portia: I disagree with much of what you say and I have never known any part of my homelans as Erie, Airy, or Irey. Is is my understanding that natives of the Irish state are about the most non-racist people on earth. They warmly embrace immigrants from India and Africa, be they legal or illegal. Also, my W.A.S.P. wife was fondly welcomed by everyone in Ireland, North and South. but there are many American tourist who receive the cold shoulder in the Irish state, especially those who show corcern for Nationalists in the part of Ireland that is still controlled by G.B.

I was at an event recently where Tim O'Connor of The Gathering fame gave a fine presentation outlining the purpose of "The Gathering". All fine and dandy until someone in the audience asked him about the number 1 item on most peoples agenda when it comes to going to Ireland, and that is AIRFARE. Basic question, is there any support or possibilities at special airfares being promoted for this year long event?. The answer was "We are looking into this." They are 3 months into this promotion and no answer to the most important item in transporting people to your venue. This Gathering is a snow job promoted by Govt Muppets. Gather your stuff and stay away go somewhere else I say!!!. (not really)

The welcome mat is an invitation to come and spend your money,you will note no mention for granting the diaspora the right too Vote, which is their born right.

Corporate Ireland must step forward and assume a leadership position and must do more for our country and our communities by contributing to the future of Irish society in which we all have a stake.” it is all about the $$$$. Eire of the welcomes is long dead, sold out to Roma and German common purpose. The Irish are still so racist- hate the Americans etc, hate the non catholics, and yet these men try to sell Her. The real 2013 Eire Gathering has nothing to do with what is being sold here.

I have a question about next year's gatherings that I'd like Taoiseach Kenny to answer. As a member of the Irish diaspora whose nationality applies to the Whole Irish Nation and was never limited to the territory of the former Free State, and whose wife is a New England Methodist who had ancestors in the Revolutionary War, would we receive a Fáilte Mhór from anyone officially linked to the Dáil?
