120 million and the lawyer gets half of that for all his "work." No wonder fees in the hospital are so high.

We don't know the facts, $120 may be what it will cost for her lifetime care, not to mention that her mother shouldn't have to give up her own life because of others callousness. Not only can't earn her living, provide for her children, etc. Do you have any idea what in home hospital equiptment costs to rent or own, what 24 hour qualified caregivers cost, not just salary but benefits too? Do you think the costs are going to go down over the next decades? What about specialized transportation for the medical care visits she must go to. Some people like this need a couple of thousand dollars a DAY.

I've no problem with lawsuits, but $120 million is way too much. I believe that the settlement should cover the person's living expenses for the rest of their lives, not to make millionaires out of the entire family. With any luck at all, a judge will reduce the settlement on appeal. After all, it's all of us that will be paying it, not the insurance companies.

difficult case I'm sure but he did it. Usually things like this go nowhere and they have to be accountable, you make a drastic mistake and ruin someone's life then at least make life easier for those that were damaged and their families. Good for him....
