Police are still not allowed to question the high profile Irish sports journalist who is accused of having an affair with a 16-year-old girl he met while coaching GAA.

Last April, the journalist was accused of having relations with the underage girl after a member of his family found suspect text messages on his cell phone. Since then he has been treated for psychiatric problems and has attempted suicide.

According to reports in the Evening Herald, the psychiatrists treating the journalist have not given the police “the all clear”. They said the patient is receiving out patient care in a South Dublin medical facility.

The former sports journalist and GAA coach has not been allowed to work since the allegations were made. He is now living in a flat in Dublin.

After the allegations came to light, the journalist attempted to commit suicide and has been receiving medical care ever since.

Funny how no one is crying for the death and dismemberment of this typical sexual abuser. No "Pedophile" terminology as is reserved for the church. Irish folks are enabling pedophilia by pretending its a church issue. As the US John Jay College of Criminal Justice report stated, it is not a church problem but a problem of the social degeneration of western civilization. Every organization, school system and religious insitution has been infected with it.
amazing how people become to ill to answer awkward questions, should be a 3 doctor tribunal to assess them, two out 3 says they are well enough,,start talking dude.
There is no cure for pedophilia, so why waste time and money on therapy? Most likely got private insurance too. £££££ talks.
so he an out patient? free to abuse other children if he wants? Nothing has changed in Ireland re child rape and abuse, has it. The perpetrators are looked after and the victims reabused. Great system.
By the way I note that the age of the girl involved is quoted as '16'. Of course she was 14 reportedly when these text messages which indicated an inappropriate relationship were found on his 'phone. Marvellous the way the professional classes in Ireland are able to avoid talking to the Gardai about serious allegations and can still live in a flat in Dublin and attend therapy as an outpatient isn't it? I wonder how the parents of the then 14 year old girl are getting on while this chap is warding off the Gardai?
One wonders how quickly he'd have been interviewed if he was from a council estate. It says in this article he is being treated as an 'outpatient'. So what is the holdup in interviewing this man?
