An Irish gangster, known only as Mr. Big, has placed a $40,000 bounty on an unnamed rival’s head in an effort to protect his life.
The Dublin criminal is the joint chief of an Irish drug gang that killed Real IRA chief Alan Ryan in Dublin in 2012.
Ryan, 32, was targeted as part of a feud with criminals in the city over an extortion racket he was running. He had already extorted more than €300,000 from Irish criminals when he turned his attentions on Mr. Big and his associate. When they refused to give him the cash, he threatened to have them murdered, so they sent a hit team to kill him. Ryan was shot dead near his home in Donaghmede in north Dublin on September 3, 2012.
According to MassAppeal.com,  the Real IRA, a paramilitary organization with access to heavy weaponry, is prepared to exact revenge.
“He knows he is in serious trouble and wants to take someone with him if he gets killed,” a source told The Star.
“He has put down the €30,000 and has stipulated that if he is killed then a named associate of Ryan is to be murdered.
“He has let it be known that there is a price on the associate’s head if he is killed and the belief is that it is some sort of desperate insurance policy on his own life.
“He thinks that the Ryan gang will be prevented from going after him, knowing one of their people will be done in return.
“But he is wrong about that. Ryan’s associates have been after him since the murder and will stop at nothing to get him.
“They will take their chances on one of their own being killed if he is taken out.”
