Ironic, because as things stand hundreds of millions are being taken out of the economy in the form of remittances sent back to the "old country" by Poles, Latvians etc. If this was money that had been earned by working in Ireland you couldn't object, but in many cases what they send back is welfare money that the Irish taxpayers have given them. Many Irish people will tell you how some foreign migrants walk straight from the Post Office (where they collect the Welfare) to the Western Union office (from where they send home the money). We Americans remember "Obama Money"--the foreign migrants in Ireland probably call the freebies "Irish money". Money for nothing. Why should Irish workers pay foreign migrants money for existing?
