A large payout is due to bond holders of astronomical proportions, obviously being payed for in social welfare cuts. A sort of dyslectic Robin Hoodism, steal from the poor and give to the rich. When the gamblers unanimous of the Irish private banking sector got their fingers burnt, they were nationalised by the Irish Government whose political caste may have been compromised by them. Consequently implicating the taxpayer for their casino capitalism. How just is that? EuroFederalism is a bumb rap for small guy in Ireland. It's not what it said on the 1916 biscuit tin. Ireland for the Irish and their diaspora!
I think all of the European countries should have rejected the offers by the banks and shut down the governments overspending in every area and let the taxation of the people be lessened to where they could start businesses and get travelers and foreign manufacturing into Ireland. I'm willing to move from America - It's on the Eve of Destruction from the two evil presidential candidates - O'dumba is a Communist and a Fascist and wants death to the earth and Agenda 21 from the UN. I'm willing to give up my citizenship because it's impossible to get honest voting here - Mittens Romney voted for the NDAA, Abortion, higher taxation, World Wars to make them richer and the FED that is unaccountable here in the USA and are extorting the hard earned money from the middle class who are stuck paying for the mistakes of the rich and the poor. Both ends and being taxed to hell and back. Good riddence USA - YOU SUCK!
To Connemaragirl's comment let me add this: Cé gur as Connemara a thangais is dócha go bhfuil Gaeilge mheasara maith agat agus is eol duit nach bhfuil meas mo mhadra ag an ngáth D.T. ar an dteanga álainn sin. Ag an am gcéanna, áfach, tá Rialtas an Stáit ag déanamh a ndíchill chun tacaíocht láidir a thabhairt do gach teanga eile ar dhromclá an dhomhain.
Folks would do well to check out an Irish Central article posted October 27, 2010. "Polish people working in Ireland sent home $1.6 billion last year".
Well, Bobby, that was a great post. Just about sums it up and shows why socialism never works; sooner or later they run out of everyone else's money.... many of the Irish at home do the same thing hence the economic state we are in.
Have no intention of sending money back to the 'failed state/ bond-holders's 'wet dream'. I won't need to, touchwood. By 2020, the junta still will deny overseas Irish the vote. But to you still remaining in the emerald sod right now, do Not V-o-t-e in your next General Election. En masse. I already de-registered. This is one form of civil disobedience. By creating an impasse, may put a spanner in our wretched political system. WKnee (& Bobby) as ever, spot on!
Not one cent would i give to those crooks with their Gathering scam, pay their insane pensions, allowances etc.The Irish tax payer is paying for every fatherless child in Africa & eastern Europe Ireland is known as "The Babby Factory" The only people to benefit from this is all the fat assed ugly girls that up to now would only get a ride when Paddy was so drunk he couldnt see what he was rideing on a saturday night Ireland is changeing size and colour very quickly
When pigs fly ,will we send money back to Ireland, when you stop treating foreigners better than the actual Irish people them selves, when you allow no Irish need apply in their own Country ,you know there's some thing wrong with those in authority running the Country.Bobby is right, its disgusting.
I have to agree with Paul H. What they've done so far hasn't helped a bit, so maybe it's time to try some Irish spirit. Dump the euro and tell the banks who got Ireland into this mess to F off.
To be precise, the debt clock reads: € 135,181,240,053 or over 82% of GDP.
at the present moment, the Irish debt clock shows over 135 bn euros.
What Bobby says is 100% right about people from all over the world getting children's allowance in Ireland. This is not going to stop. The only way to put a stop to it amd for Ireland to gain any kind of status is for Greece, Spain and Ireland to default and tell the IMF to keep their money. All the money we get from the IMF is to pay off the bankers, like Kenny's friend Presidential candidate Romney. So we must default. It is the only way out.
Your comments about sending money back "to the wives and children of political prisoners" (in fact giving the IRA the means to prolong the violence in the North) says a lot about you. You've been out of Ireland too long ever to understand.
The immigrants of my generation who left Ireland in the 50s and 60s sent substantial amounts home to the Irish state in our late teens and 20s. In addition to which we also made contributions to the renavations of churches and construction of other buildings ikn the home parishes. From the beginning of the 'Troubles' in the North in the late '6os, nmany of us contributed to the support of the wives and children of political prisoners. Because of this, politicians, journaslists, even clergy called us misinformed maslcontents, sentimental foods, bloody idiots and worse. But now the same Partitonist Europhiles w0uld wecome our dollars.
Its made alot easier for them WoundedKnee, The Post office does western union. I was in the post office a couple of months back in Dublin. The woman infront of me was Nigerian she was collecting her childrens allowance money. She received over €1200, she had her western union slip ready and alot of that money was sent back to nigeria. She had 4 young children with her and looked around 7 months pregnant. Also a couple of years back when we had the ash clouds from volcano eruptions in Iceland, all flights were grounded. Hundreds of eastern europeans failed to sign on at the welfare office. They were not in Ireland, they are claiming everything from dole money, childrens allowance and rent allowance. A single guy can claim €752 a month Job Seekers allowance, if he has 3 children in eastern europe thats another €428 in childrens allowance. And €450 in rent allowance. Thats €1630 a month for doing nothing. That amount will go a long way in E.E, Considering the average wage in eastern europe is €400 a month for professionals. They also get free medical care, free GP visits and hospital.
