Well our money is still "popular" in Ireland. It tells me a lot about a person who has nothing to contribute other than constant anti-American drivel. Nothing going on upstairs of any value. Just nasty twits full of hatred, bitterness, and negativity. You're a disgrace to the rest of the Irish who post positive, intelligent, and interesting opinions worthy of consideration.

Dublin born, whats with all the capital letters? Yes you are right to a point. Americans are not popular in Ireland and yes, many Irish have issues with Americans decalring wars all over the place but if people do want to celebrate then thats up to them. Dont know anyone myself who was arsed but thats life. I did see a funny pic in the journal today of a little kid celebrating the 4th with an inflatable rifle with the stars and stripes logo. I thought 'how apt and inappropriate!'
Sean, the Irish 'nation' didnt celebrate this! More Irish celebrated Chinese new year, Australia day and Africa day than this!

Dublin Born is an idiot and doesn't deserve a response. The Irish and Americans have a special bond, it just those half breed Brits that reside in Dublin that hate us. If it wasn't for a America there would be no Republic and they would still be kissing the Queens ass and throwing each other under the bus to get inside the manor and out of the tater fields.

Celebrating America's Independence Day in New Ross or in any other part of the whole Irish nation is most appropriate, not only because of Jack Fitgerald Kennedy's connection with Wexford, but also on account of the 2 or 3 Irish natives who signed the Declaration of Independence, and the estimated 30% of Washington's army were Irish natives As for the "Boys of Wexford" and their desperate gallantry in 1798, they sought FULL independence for ALL of Ireland, not a partitioned country, the greater part of which is largerly controlled by the E.U., while its N/E corner is ruled by G.B. For long I have personally celebrated the 4th of July, especially as a former U'S. marine and a current Legionnaire. In addition to which I commemorate the Heroes of 1798, a great many of whom were Protestants (as as my better half, whose ancestors on both sides fought the British in the Revolutionary War).
