A new report by Food from Britain indicates that Ireland has the highest per capita consumption of chocolate in the world. Approximately 24.7 pounds of chocolate are consumed each year per Irish capita.

The Irish Examiner
reports on Ireland’s staggering sweet tooth. The chocolate market in Ireland is valued at an impressive $677 million dollars, surely much to the delight of places like Butlers Chocolate Cafe and Lily O’Briens.

Ireland currently serves as Britain’s largest export market for chocolate. Sweets popular in Ireland like the British-made Kit-Kat bars help drive the business along.

Ciaradexy - Wrong again. Cadburys main factory is in Birmingham and well worth a visit to 'Cadbury World'. Also Cadburys make choc in Dublin and Kerry. Only one bar - an ex Frys choc bar is now made in Poland..when the Bristol factory closed. Thats the danger of trawling the net for your knowledge. Would agree the Cadburys made in Ireland is more creamy...when I visit and buy it as a member of the dreaded diaspora Ciara!! By the way surprised you have nothing to say about IMF and social welfare cuts??
Cadburys is English NOT Irish and these days its made by Kraft in Poland.
