I would like to read more on the dark side like ktoneill said. I would also like to know how the contractor got on, how much it cost him to hire 3 guys that did not care about him, his family, reputation or his life trying to run a business in this country. I would like to meet them young lads and string them up!
@ktoneill - Sorry to hear of your friend's bad experience..but a few bad apples don't spoil the whole bunch :)
Nice story but some of these guys think they can do what they want here. A friend of mine, owns a very successful and lucrative painting business on the North Shore of Boston, gave three Irish lads a job and also loaned them his car so they could get around and to and from the job. One afternoon one of the guys came by to get $50 from him as a loan against his next paycheck. What my friend did not know was the $50 was to get the guys to the airport and on a plane home. He found his car three days later totalled and could not find the guys. He needs to find out what happened, if anyone was hurt or property damaged by his car. He has a wife and two young kids so he could be sued or even worse. The GAA club in Boston, who they played for, knew nothing even though they usually pay for their flights etc, to come out and play for them. It's guys like this who make it very difficult for others coming out to find work and my friend, or his other friends in the construction business will never hire another Irish guy again. Maybe Niall you should do stories on the dark side of some of these guys who take advantage and think they are better then any American.
