The Irish American Republicans group have come out with a strong endorsement of Paul Ryan as VP following criticism of the choice form their Democratic counterparts.

"The Irish American Republicans praise the selection by Mitt Romney of Rep Paul Ryan to be the Republican Nominee for Vice President.  Rep Paul Ryan is a serious political leader, who has shown the courage to draft a national Budget, that is balanced, will not raise taxes, and will restart our national economy. The Irish American Republicans salute Mitt Romney on a brilliant choice for Vice President." stated Grant Lally, IAR National Co-Chair.

"Paul Ryan has shown real courage - the one thing you see far too little of in Obama's Washington.  When no one said it could be done, Paul Ryan produced a national Budget that is balanced and deals with the real problems of huge deficits, and health care programs - Medicare and Medicaid - that Obama is trying to bankrupt.  Paul Ryan is a breath of fresh air and will be a great Vice President." Lally Continued.

"Rep Paul Ryan is a great Irish-American.  The utter nonsense and nasty personal invective that we are hearing from Obama's far-Left "attack poodles," is really unworthy of response. Barack Obama has nothing but failure to run on, so he and his minions engage in the politics of personal attack.  Well your nasty behavior won't work anymore, President Obama." Said Jeff Cleary, IAR National Co-Chair.

"All Irish Americans - and all people who care about whether this country has a future - should support Paul Ryan and Mitt Romney.  Under Obama this country is headed into oblivion - a debt-ridden, economically stagnant, welfare nation.  This may be our last chance to save America as a beacon of hope and prosperity to the world.  Obama means poverty, bankruptcy, hucksterism, and government hand-outs.  Mitt Romney and Paul Ryan mean fiscal sanity, balanced budgets, job creation and a future for our country.  The choice is that clear."  Cleary concluded.

The Irish American Republicans are a national coalition of Irish Americans in the Republican Party, originally founded in 1868.  They have played a leading role in elections across the United States, for which they have been dubbed by Sean Hannity, as "the GOP's Delta Force."

Fiormhisneach....Pol O' Riain agus Mitt Romney? An bhfuil an grupa GOP Gaelach ag magadh? Is BREAGOIRI agus SCRIOSTOIRI AN MEDICARE iad, Pol O' Riain agus Mitt Romney!! Is dearg amadain iad an grupa GOP Gaelach! True courage....Paul Ryan and Mitt Romney? Are the Irish GOP group kidding? Paul Ryan and Mitt Romney are liars and devastators of Medicare! The Irish GOP group are total idiots!
"Eddie Munster" is a liar and got caught today. Said he was against the Stimulus, bad mouth it to the wold, then on the QT wrote Washington and asked for millions for his State. Boston Newspapers caught him in the act. Hey Eddie Muster Ryan, you "Lace Curtain Irish" are a real drag on us "Real Irish". And go to confession, cause you did lie and you did get caught.
Harley Guy. Are you saying that Medicare is welfare? I don't understand your point since you talk about both (Medicare and welfare) in proximate sentences. However, if you or any senior citizen you know is on Medicare, they indeed are on a government-sponsored health plan -- and one that has worked successfully for decades. At some point I thought I heard that Mr. Ryan wants to eliminate Medicare and give each person about $6,000 for private insurance. If you have any serious illnesses or even minor ones, you will find that $6,000 will disapear in two shakes of a lamb's tail. After that, ... I've been working for nearly 50 year years, paying into the system as the government required. I am now 67 and on Medicare, receiving benefits into which I have given over the years. Medicare is saving my life. $6,000 or any small amount in the Ryan plan will leave me sorely wanting.
For all the GOP hand wringing over the deficit (which Cheney said didn't matter when they started this mess with their tax cuts,) the Ryan Budget doesn't even begin bringing it down until 2040. By then, he will be retired and living on his fat congressional pension or, HEAVEN FORBID, a fatter VP pension. The REAL Tea Party (not the Koch brothers funded sham one) is not thrilled with Ryan or his budget. He favors the establishment GOP (Wall Street/Corporation CEO) crowd which is why Romney picked him. Keep an eye on the Ron Paul delegates at the GOP convention in Tampa at the end of the month. They have been delt some hard knocks by the establishment state GOP committees and are down but I would not count them out just yet.
Seems that my posts regarding a fact-checking, unbiased non-profit are being lost in the ether.
@eiriamach - Thanks for explaining the Medicare facts for the FOX NEWS Zombies below! In comparing the effects of the two plans, they should also take into account that the Affordable Care Act (aka ObamaCARES) has eliminated copays for senior's preventative care and closed the senior "donut hole" on perscription drugs. IF the GOP liars get in, they will repeal the ACA and those expenses will reappear causing even current seniors to see an increase from what they are paying now. The GOP has found that they are losing in the polls so they are lying about what both plans do and are trying to disenfranchise as much of the electorate as they can. Where is the House Committee on UNAMERICAN Activities when it is really needed? Old propagandist trick - keep repeating the lie long enough and people will start to believe it. The truth will keep you free so watch something besides Fox!
Some posters seem to believe that Ryan's plan doesn't cut Medicare and that Obama has cut benefits from Medicare. I suppose they'd believe the sky is falling if Fox News told them so! Obama plans to cut $716 billion from Medicare to help pay for the Affordable Care Act, but these cuts DO NOT AFFECT BENEFITS or SERVICES to anyone enrolled in Medicare. They represent reduced payments to insurance companies and health care providers. By contrast, Ryan's plan cuts the same $716 billion FROM HEALTH SERVICES for seniors and redistributes these billion$ to the wealthy in the form of tax cuts. Who would choose such a gutted plan? If you believed Romney's video ad "Paid In," you need to do your own research! This ad lies blatantly about Obama gutting Medicare. Obama has not cut any benefits from Medicare, and his Affordable Care Act is reducing health care costs for everyone, while the Ryan plan cuts benefits for Medicare recipients and encourages inflation in the costs of insurance and services. Health care increases have already left 50 million uninsured. That's why we're voting for Obama and the Affordable Care Act!
Let's Roll!
Ryan will drive the US to bankruptcy if his "budget" is put into force. All you have to do is read it to see that. Anyone who supports him suppports destroying everything America used to stand for and is, quite simply, a traitor to this country.
Does anyone proof the articles on this site?
Perhaps there is a Democrat budget plan. * U.S. Tax revenue: $2,170,000,000,000 * Fed budget: $3,820,000,000,000 * New debt: $ 1,650,000,000,000 * National debt: $14,271,000,000,000 * Recent budget cuts: $ 38,500,000,000 Let's now remove 8 zeros and pretend it's a household budget: * Annual family income: $21,700 * Money the family spent: $38,200 * New debt on the credit card: $16,500 * Outstanding balance on the credit card: $142,710 * Total budget cuts so far: $3.85 Got It ?????
garbo55 | Aug 16, 2012, 12:19 PM EDT What are you talking about wjb1tex, there is no comparison between Ryan's budget plan and the Democrat's budget plan. The Democrat's don't have a budget plan....--------------- My point exactly.
What are you talking about wjb1tex, there is no comparison between Ryan's budget plan and the Democrat's budget plan. The Democrat's don't have a budget plan....
I think CelticQueen should show us the comparisons between Ryan's budget and the Democrat budget so we can us the brain God gave us to decide which is best for our country.
CewlticQueen needs to stop consulting the Whitehouse everyday for the Partyline Talking points. Connor is correct. Look it up. Money to pay for his his healthcare is coming out of the medicare. I'm a republican, I'm not wealthy by any means, we are not radicals, we want whats best for society and America, and sometimes that means coaxing a long term welfare recipient off the couch and back into the work force, there's nothing un-American about that. I'm also from Dublin, been here since 1984 and recently experienced the Irish health care system first hand as I lost both parents recently. I want NOTHING to do with a government sponsored health care plan. Talk about rationed care, it was horrendous..... I am currently uninsured but will find a way to pay for my own care as necessary. I don't need Obama to help me, I'll be fine thank you very much
