As a Navy Vietnam era vet with service in the Med, this one is easy. Ireland has radical socialists under the sway of Gerry Adams. Petty Officer Deveney paid the price for being a spy. At 30 years old, he was a Navy veteran and not a young emotional lad. This would indicate an active Irish radical socialist presence which is still maneuvering to overthrow the British government. Somehow, he was "baited" into believing that he was safely interacting with Soviet agents. Since our current president is a socialist, this is now a heavy conern for the American Navy.
