Pat Lynch, a Wyoming high school football coach, was forced to resign last week after distributing a blatantly homophobic leaflet to his players.
The leaflet condemned anyone thinking of reporting any kind of bullying to school authorities, siding with bullies in it's sexist and homophobic language.
The so-called'Hurt Feelings Report' belittled any student thinking of complaining about bullying before they even spoke up.
Local parents have taken to the web to complain about Lynch's action and say they were astounded to learn that although forced out of coaching, Lynch will keep a job as a guidance counsellor.

How, critics ask, will any young gay student feel comfortable approaching a counsellor who's contempt for them is already on record?
Lynch handed out the leaflet to his players last month, which sarcastically claims to take 'hurt feelings very seriously' offering to supply the victims of bullying with 'diapers or a blanky.' It also asks for the name of the 'Real Man who hurt your sensitive little feelings.'
Under a list of reasons for filing a bullying report, the survey offers choices such as 'I have woman like hormones', 'I am a queer', 'I am a cry baby'. 'I am a little b****' and 'my butt is easily hurt.'
At the end of the leaflet the signature line leaves a space for the name of the 'little sissy filing this report' and the filer's 'girly-man signature.'
Lynch informed the Johnson County School Board of his resignation this week, reports the Daily Mail.
However after a meeting of the local school board, Lynch was allowed to keep his job as a guidance counsellor at the high-school 'under administrative supervision,' according to reports.
It's a move that has enraged local parents and will likely do nothing to stem the controversy that Lynch created himself with his blatantly pro-bullying stance.

I think Patty Boy's picture speaks volumes. Compassion, understanding and that I am a real tough guy persona. I know a few lovely Irish bars in Chicago that would have him crying for his blanky. Me thinks he doth protest too much, perhaps Prince Patty is really a closet queen.

Just look at his pix. A skinhead. the look on his face suggests the guy is nuts, plain nuts. these so called Jocks make their own contribution to the 1-2 thousand Tyler Clementis and Matthew Shepards every year. We are fighting the wrong war on terrorism. thanks to Irish central for supporting our gay friends and neighbors. While the btw catholic church continues to demonize gay people, Calling them instrinsically evil, intrinsicly disordered and not normal. sometimes makes me think their campaign to protect life is a smokescreen for so many crimes. Including the endless hidden molestation of kid sll over the world.

Here's a classic case a repressed, self-loathing closet case who's sublimating his own fear of being gay and projecting it onto others in the form of bullying. Look at that face... what you see there is FEAR of himself. I really feel sorry for any kid who's unfortunate enough to have this creep in their life. What's wrong with Wyoming?? Seems to me someone else by the name of Matthew Shepard was from Wyoming too.

hollabackgurl, I wasn't making a statement about homophobia. I was merely making a comparison to strict parents. I certainly don't look at, and wouldn't enjoy male sex videos. However, there is an erotic interest, known as CFNM (Clothed female, naked male). Observing a woman reporter, in a men's locker room, or a female medic examining a male can arouse heterosexual male interest. The observer is not turned on by the sight of male genitals. Rather, he projects himself into the photo, as though he were in the locker room with the female reporter, or being examined by the female doctor, nurse practitioner, or nurse. This is quite different than being aroused by homo-erotica!

Is a bully a coward at heart? Are girls worse bullies than boys? Labeling Coach Lynch homophobic clouds the real issue of a maladjusted value system that denigrates all but the cookie-cutter beautiful people, the cheerleader and the jock. As a guidance counselor, Coach Lynch should know that real men stand up for victims of unjust treatment. Next come those who feel shame at allowing these types of activities to go unopposed. Then there is the participant, active or passive, who relishes the sadistic treatment of a fellow human being. Into which category does Coach Lynch fall?

I have seen (if fact have a copy of it)the "survey" he distributed- it is something that clearly was not meant to be taken seriously, in fact my guess is its been circulated in 10's of thousands of offices around the country. For sure not PC and not a wise choice to have distributed to high school kids in this day and age but by no means does this mean this is an evil bad man- just not a smart one. It was a tongue and cheek attempt to send a message about standing up for yourself and meeting issues head on rather then whining and crying about them. The man made a mistake and that mistake does not completely whipe out the many years of good work he has done in that community.

I wonder if Lynch coached the thugs who murdered Matthew Sheppard? Wyoming seems a bit behind the times. I wonder if the coach has something to hide, and covers it up with homophobic rhetoric. I wonder if he wears lip stick to bars and wants to shower with boys, like they do at Penn State.

You could have saved yourself a lot of trouble by learning how to Google, SingleDonald. Sigmund Freud theorized that people often have the most hateful and negative attitudes towards things they secretly crave, but feel that they shouldn’t have. Heterosexual men with the most anti-gay attitudes, when asked, reported not being sexually aroused by gay male sex videos. But, their penises reported otherwise. Homophobic men were the most sexually aroused by gay male sex acts. Source: talk.baltimoresun.com/showthread.php?t=248912

Lynching was well named for such a freak.

Concerning colkelley's comparing homophobia to a deep-seated fear that the anti-gay person is himself homosexual, I have sometimes wondered about the following. When a father of an adult daughter dislikes a boyfriend, over predjucial reasons, might he have some deep-seated incestuous feelings, for his daughter? I don't believe this is usually the case, but it can apply, in a small % of instances. Also, if the adult daughter lets her meddling dad cause her to leave a particular guy, might she have some deep-seated Electra feelings, for her father? Again, only in a small % of cases, but it can happen. The Oedipal Complex can also apply to a son, who lets his mom steer him away from girlfriends.

What about sticks and stones may break my bones, but words will never hurt me? Lynch is obviously not homophobic as he is not afraid of homosexuals.

Guidance Counselor. Yikes!
clevelander | Nov 15, 2011, 10:31 AM EST
Sad. Disgusting. And he is a guidance councilor? I hope the 'under administrative supervision,' is extensive.

The school board along with Mr. Lynch should find themselves unemployed, immediately.

Let's hope they fire the bastard.
colkelley | Nov 15, 2011, 09:35 AM EST
The coach's pro-bulllying stance is because he was and likely still is a bully. With that face he obviously thinks he is tough...happy to accommodate him and kick his butt up around his shoulders. His homophobia comes from the same place of most virulent homophobes I have met...they have a deep-seated fear that they themselves are homosexual.
hollabackgurl | Nov 15, 2011, 09:11 AM EST
Real men gang up together in groups to torment and harass the vulnerable kid who sticks out. Because the many tormenting the one is macho. Right. At least he has the face he deserves.
