Irish American heiress’ Huguette Clark’s apartment to sell for $60 million
Vast Manhattan apartment to go on the market
The enormous Upper East Side apartment of deceased Irish-American heiress Huguette Clark, may sell for only $60 million, the New York Post reports.
The 15,000 square feet apartment contains forty-two rooms inside a limestone prewar co-op at 907 Fifth Avenue. With views of Central Park the elaborate space includes a 30-foot library, a 40-foot drawing room and a 40-foot living room. Building staff reported seeing Huguette only a few times in decades.
While the prime real estate was expected to sell for $100 million sources tell the New York Post that it is estimated to be worth $45 million to $60 million as the space consists of three unconnected apartments.
The building’s co-op board have not yet ruled on whether or not the two eighth floor apartments can be joined. There is also an additional 12th floor apartment that could be sold for $25 million.

According to the Post Mary Rutherfurd, Gimme Shelter of Brown Harris Stevens will be handling the lucrative sale.
“It’s a great opportunity to own more than 10,000 square feet on Fifth Avenue,” a source who has viewed the space told the Post.
Clark, a reclusive copper heiress died in January 2011 at the age of 104. Clark’s attorney and accountant are under investigation for tampering with her will, though they have a counter claim against her estranged family.
Her father William Andrews Clark was a copper baron. In 1907, The New York Times estimated his fortune at $150 million — roughly $3 billion today. The youngest of six siblings they all died before her.
She lived the last years of her life in Beth Israel Medical Center in Manhattan. She was attended by round the clock care and surrounded by her French doll collection, which she had from her childhood.
