A very tight knit community here, exceedingly so, now torn apart by an unbelievable act of savagery. A chronicle of hatred in a town full of normality, and every day things, now changed for ever, the laughter of the children stilled.

killing field : USA, 9,369 (Land of the Free - shapers of a world in their likeness) who knew?.
A nation that is mentally ill trying to convert others to adopt such a model.

I couldn't agree more Strongbow. In reading the article, they didn't mention any Irish connection of the little girl other than her name is McDonnell? That doesn't mean anything. Sorry to say but is what Irish Central does best...make everything and everyone an Irish issue. Prayers go out to all the people affected by this tragedy.

From an australian perspective, we had a mass shooting in Tasmania in about 1997 and then there were much tighter gun laws. We have had nothing like it since. Responsible gun owners should not be afraid of responsible gun laws. It is a matter of how it is done. Proper gun licensing and registration practices in all states and agreement between states to share the information so if you have a conviction for violent crime, or certain mental health issues you cannot purchase or own a gun. Those who are responsible have guns.

Why does "IrishCentral" always look for the Irish angle in every news story particularly one as tragic as this one. Is it not just a little bit insular and narcissistic. Of course stricter gun laws would stem the increasing incidence of these events. It is ironic that the guns the shooter's mom bought for self defense were used to kill her. This fact encapsulates the inane stupidity of the NRA hordes. Only trained professionals should have access to firearms.

Isn't this very sick? To jump on this, to use the poor dead little children as excuse to disarm the good People....make it easy for these things to happen?

PEOPLE KILL PEOPLE, DON'T DON'T KILL PEOPLE. HOW STUPID TO CONTROL GUNS WHEN THE ONES WHO KILL WILL GET THEM ANYHOW AND WE WILL NOT BE ABLE TO DEFEND OURSELVES!!
