Army investigators have said Captain Bruce Kevin Clark, a US Army nurse, had no bullet wound in his body when he died on 1st May. However, his wife insists that she saw the bullet hole in the cupboard behind her husband after she watched him fall during a Skype call.
Susan Oreallana-Clark was speaking to her husband via Skype, while he was at his base, north of Kandahar, Afghanistan, when her husband collapsed.
Although the cause of her husband’s death is still under investigation, for now, the US Army has ruled out a gun wound.
Chris Grey, the Army Criminal Investigation Command spokesman, said, “Although the investigation into his death is open and ongoing by Special Agents from the US Army Criminal Investigation Command, we can positively say that Captain Clark was not shot.”
"Agents conducting the investigation found no trauma to the body beyond minor abrasions and a possible broken nose most likely caused from Captain Clark striking his face on his desk when he collapsed…We do not suspect foul play in the death of Captain Clark at this point in our ongoing investigation," he said.
In a statement released by the Clark family on Sunday they said his wife had seen the bullet hole. A member of the military who came to the home had also said there was a bullet hole behind Captain Clark.
The video link between the two stayed open for two hours. Those in the United States and Afghanistan tried to get him help.
The statement said, “After two hours and many frantic phone calls by Mrs Clark, two military personnel arrived in the room and appeared to check his pulse, but provided no details about his condition to his wife.”
Orellana-Clark said she was releasing details "to honour my husband and dispel the inaccurate information and supposition promulgated by other parties".
Speaking to the AP, a family spokesperson said the Army had not officially informed the family of their new findings.
Captain Clark’s body was returned to the United States last week.
His family described him as a “model father, husband, family member, US Army Chief Nurse, and American citizen.”
He is survived by his wife and two daughters, aged three and nine.

does it matter what nationality he is,the fact is he is dead and has left a wife and two daughters behind, this is a mystery, his wife says she saw a bullet hole, independant army witnesses say they saw a bullet hole?,the armed forces are very good at cover ups, fragging(killing officers by hand grenade was not uncommon in Vietnam, deep cut army camp,5 deaths of young soldiers, some shot twice, but ruled suicide?limited non interdependent civilian inquiry.many such cases, check for wounds, check for powder spray.or maybe he just collapsed,is it possible to break your nose just falling forward on a desk?and surely they will have an autopsy if any suspicion is relevant and no cause of death found,i should think it would be hard to miss a bullet wound although it has happened in cases previously,.interesting.medics would not normally be unpopular.

@Bythebay - Starting with 1749, Ancestry.com has 1,890,521 hits for births, christenings and confirmations in Ireland of people with the last name of Clark. Not knowing his paternal grandfather, that is the best I can do for you. Maybe the bullet hole was already there and he was in front of it so that when he fell forward it was visible to his wife but he blocked it before he fell. The family have the body so they can have it examined by a private doctor if they suspect foul play. My condolences to them and my appreciation for his service to our country.

This site is an off shot of the Irish Voice, a weekly newspaper circulated on the east coast with the publisher hailing from the other side. It has a very limited readership and judging from the number of copies found in my local news agent's stand at the end of the week, not too many are sold for $2 a pop. The paper is forever touting the I/A catch phrase and the paper does nothing more than promote the expats and I/As, much like is done on here and it is all done for monetary gain. If you think people over here get up in the morning and look in the mirror and say thank god I'm an I/A, I have a bridge to sell you. There is no umbilical cord tying anyone to Ireland and in fact only a small minority of the so called professional I/As go about on the green holiday or in Irish bars, singing, up the rebels. Most people here, have as much interest in your country as they do in tim-buck-to and probably know even less about it. Higgins recent visit went unnoticed in the local press and while speaking of this, one wonders why he didn't visit with the I/A in the WH.

Apparently none of the bright-light Americans can answer how this person is Irish American!! All they can do is puerile name calling.

bob4...she must be a shill for IC, without her this site would be deader than a graveyard on a rainy night. She is funny, can only image if she is real, would be interesting to hear how her significant other puts up with her. Then again, it is said, madness is rampant in Ireland, who knows, enjoy her while she lasts for she may not pass this way again.

Bythebay, is your only reason to write on Irish Central to irritate people with your ridiculous blather?
