I have a friend, who is a Survivor of the Magdalene Laundries in New Zealand. Her stories of rape and abuse, when they are first heard, are almost beyond the pall of belief, and yet I know them to be true. She is in her 60's, and yet the way in which the abuse has seared her mind, soul, body and spirit is beyond description. Versions of her story were probably repeated 10's of thousands of times, and yet the Irish government is just starting to admit their part in the perpetration of the molestation, rape and abuse of these young women and children. It's about time! Please support any initiative that will lead to their recognition, compensation for past abuse and healing. Thanks!
