AMAZON is set to create 100 new jobs at its development center in Dublin. In demand are support engineers, systems engineers, network engineers, software developers, and technical managers.


Dublin has proven to be an excellent location for finding the top talent we need to support our continued growth and we are delighted to be expanding here,' Paul Conlon, managing director of the Amazon development centre in Dublin, told the Irish Examiner.

'Our focus now is on hiring the right people as quickly as we can as we aim to fill the majority of these roles before the start of the busy Christmas period.'



Irish Industrial Development Authority (IDA) chief executive Barry O’Leary said Amazon's investment in new jobs at the technology centre reflected on Ireland's ability to attract high-calibre foreign direct investment. 



'It represents a key endorsement by one of the world’s leading companies and further adds to Ireland's reputation as the online capital of Europe and a key strategic hub for next-generation data services.'



The development centre is home to a team of engineers and developers who support the design and deployment of Amazon websites around the world.

The centre also hosts an Amazon web services support team which provides technical assistance for customers. 

Another internet company located in Dublin, the shopping website www.buyersclub.ie, has announced this week it will create 40 new positions over the next twelve to eightteen months.
