Picture is misleading. The unprecedented rise in population is mainly as a result of immigrants (dubbed the 'new Irish' by the government) producing large families. One looks at a school attendance sheet, and sees that half or more of the names are from Poland, China, Africa... I have pointed out that this must inevitably lead--by mid-century and probably earlier--to a situation in which Irish ethnicity is in terminal decline and no longer dominant on the island. At that point the concept of Irishness will become redundant. As someone who opposes globalization and values diversity, I do not wish to see the day when any small ethnicity or nation is extirpated. It appears you do, and that's your prerogative. But in your support of the destruction of Irish ethnicity and nationality at least have the manners to utter the truth, not lies.
